It's fairly basic military command structure found in most countries and military alliances. So you don't want to be subordinate to a commander who was proven to be superior. Do mind that I suggested a command rotation, giving plenty of chance for anyone to get involved. I also did not mention the word Guild Master. I'd like to have a competent commander, regardless of his function within a guild.
what I am saying is that I doubt you will get much of an agreement if you leave choosing simply up to majority rule. I wonder how they are going to work it. Simple majority (at the start of the campaign)would most people just vote for themselves?
It's a game. I'm not playing a game to be under military command. Of course i don't want. There are many guilds. That is to say that there are many point of views and ways of actions. What you are proposing is more or less the same thing than having only one guild. I do too, but in my eyes, under he proves wrong, my skilled commander is my guildmaster. Or a squadleader, or the one controlling the whole squadleaders, or whatever. But having only one way of action would be a terrible flaw. Haing many ways, on the other hand, will save us. Why? If one way is not effective against the ennemies, many others, launched at the same time, could be effective. With communication, we could chose, after a long discussion between each guilds, who could be elected. For example, if we can, each guildmaster or squads chief of chiefs being elected would be great. If we want to win, we have to discuss, and not let the election to chance, or worse, to be chosen by the guild with the more members in it.
That is understandable, but you'll note that I did mention that this is the best way of doing things if we were to take it seriously, a point of view I've been using through this discussion. No, it is not. If you read my original post you'll see my mention of having been an outfit (guild) leader in Planetside 2, a game very similar to what EC is going to be, and have had experiences with alliances based on rotational leadership. Every guild will still have its own way of playing into battles however they want to, and a competent commander will put these traits to good use. Forcing guilds into playstyles they're not used to, is the sign of an incompetent commander. Just because I'm in favour of having a single commander, does not mean I ignore guilds entirely.
I don't know why you comming here. My thread SPEAKING about COMMUNICATION and not ORDERS or WAR COUNCIL. This project speaking only about communication, we have already begun to leave on an idea of external private forum. If someone was disagree with this idea, they can leave, the door is open. ^^ This subject is made only to know if guilds want to participate otherwise the other ideas can be to develop somewhere else. Besides I suggest you making a vote to know if they agree with your ideas.
Any Saim-Hann Wild Rider clans or families created yet? I've noticed The Swordwind guild that is based around Biel-tan Eldar which is awesome. Edit: I'd like to add that this is an awesome idea having a War Council. I really hope we have some established Ulthwe farseers in that council
No saim-Hann (i'm chocked xD) Meros-Kan is Biel-Tan too. Ulthwé first with Biel-tan in secnd position.
