The thing is you can't argue and postulate how each person will react in what situation, you can only work things out statistically and assume everyone is of the same skill level and reaction times.

No, ranged should be able to destroy melee, they fire at range, once the assault guys close on them then ideally it should be set up so that the ranged specialists are destroyed by the assault teams.
  3. If thats the case then the ork boyz should win every time.

No, because the standard boy will be outmatched, out gunned and out armoured by every other faction, it's only once they start getting geared up that they start to catch up.

Exactly my point, you cannot argue what a random person or a group of the same will do nor their skill level, you can only speculate as i said you were doing.
We cant do any comparisons either as we are oblivious to the game mechanics and the balance between classes.
  6. An ork boyz skin plus flak jacket is as tough as a space marines powered armor.

That's a nice thought, but marines of all sort are good at both, and Terminators are among the best at both. Sooo....
    Bladerunner likes this.

This isn't really true in the novels, and it's certainly not true on the tabletop. Where are you getting this idea? (Serious question. 40k exists in a lot of forms, most of which are equally legit.)
  9. For the cleave you could use a diminishing return system for each person hit. For instance hitting 3 guys the first takes full damage, the 2nd takes 66% and the 3rd takes 33%. The cleave still causes more total damage but isn't likely to instakill all enemies in the effected area.

    Already 5 pages.

So, I am for collision for everyone (but we need a posibility to push people standing in the way).

About cleave, I remind reading that a zweihander can cut several heads in one blow (a big round attack). But is a sharp and light (yes, light) weapon.

I am not sure most weapon in WH40K can fit this desciption. Power sword and mono filament weapon, yes. But a chain sword? Did you try to put a chainsaw in a human body? it does not slice throw, it is very messy because the chain is clogged into the flesh. So, if you cleave with a chainsword, it is likely you don't hit deep.

I suggest you all look at how real weapons works (youtube is fine to start). Some things are supprising (2H swrods are use as spear to fight).
