It's simple maths, assuming everyone, including the boyz has cleave. On a one terminator vs 3 boyz scenario the terminator get's hit 3 times as the boyz are faster, but survives, because he's tough, and then cleaves them with one blow killing them all. In a scenario with 9 boyz and 3 terminators, the boyz are faster so hit 1st, the boyz have cleave as well so each boy can hit all 3 terminators due to cleave (in the last scenario there was only one terminator so cleave didn't come into play for the boyz) so all 9 boyz cleave and hit all 3 terminators so now all 3 terminators get hit 9 times and die before they've swung their slow moving fists/hammers. Essentially the more terminators and boyz you add to the scenario, using the same ratio the more hits the terminators suffer due to all of the additional boyz cleaving multiple targets.
this is true if the termies are standing next to each other if they are spread a little they neutralize the enemies cleave. also since we will propably have FF cleave is a nice mechanic to make cc classes a little bit more carefull on how they play and not just roll their faces on their keyboards...
ya its in theory but in praxis it wouldnt work this way there wouldnt be enough space to have all orks hit all termies with a cleave and if we get friendly fire they would also hit their mates
Ah but so would the terminators, and seeing a terminator cleave and wipe out 2 of his own terminators along with a bunch of boyz is a win for the Orkz...
but as you say the orks are many many more orks then the termies so the termies would have less chance to hit their mates
Yeah cos hitting your mates by shooting is fine and in melee not so much - this is clear discrimination of the ranged classes, I protest ! Either we make it the same for all or no ff at all. Shooters unite! (I swear I'll make such a thread, the anger is rising )
I'm just not a fan of it, AoE CC effects should be restricted to weapon type, flamer pistols, bolt pistols firing 5 shot spreads, even double lightning claws that a single attack could comprise of multiple claw attacks due to their speed. Swords and axes just don't hit multiple people unless you are strong enough or large enough to knock them off of their feet and follow through on to the next person, if so that should be represented with some form of knock back.
It just comes down to positioning, stand between 2 terminators and every time one of them hits you he smacks his mate in the face as well.
