Combat Mechanics: Akimbo Or Dual Wielding Small Arms

  1. I've actually
I've actually heard the AA 12 has surprisingly light recoil due to its design, though sure, after a couple shots you're going up be firing into the sky regardless. My point was not that CoD is realistic in that regard, but that a normal human can indeed fire a shotty with one hand and not dislocated their shoulder.

I know this, because I've personally scienced it.
  2. I'm all for dual wielding as long as the combination of weapons isn't ridiculously overpowered. I would hope the load out system and costs associated would prevent such OP load outs.

As a side note, with the current TTK we are seeing Astartes dropping dead from 2 to 3 hits from a single chainsword. Dual wielding should diminish the already next to non existent TTK even further. I'd imagine the insta kills from someone dual wielding Lightning Claws. TTK needs to be increased. This will become more and more obvious as we see more lethal weapons introduced during per alpha and/or beta.
    SlaytonTheSly likes this.
  3. Instead of increasing it, they should simply make an effective blocking system where you can parry away most of the damage in a one on one melee fight to allow you to survive longer. Chainswords are very powerful it's only the plot armour of characters that allow them to not die as they should or with the infamous use of the word "chainsword jammed". Granted I do want to see them introduce a wear system on chain weapons as they do seem to have a big problem with them losing their cutting edges over prolonged fight or when attacking heavily armored forms.
  4. Just looked that pattern up on Lexicanum and found this:
    http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Bolt_pistol

And then I checked the Warhammer Wiki:
    http://warhammer40k.wikia.com/wiki/Bolt_Pistol

So it looks like the Godwyn-Ultima pattern Boltgun can accept specialist Bolt Rounds, but the Pistol variant of the pattern....
Plus I believe it's an adaption to the breach to take longer rounds which would have to be made to a pistol to take Boltgun rounds.

Meh, would not be a high priority for me. Why wield two small sluggas with a bit of dakka each when you could wield one large shoota with much more dakka?
  6. What about a pair of Plasma Pistols? Or a pair of Kustom Shootas?

Im not sure if i should say this but you are making alot of sense.... for an ork.

Why dual wield 2 of the same when you can have plasma+bolt pistol. Or any pistol weapon+another pistol weapon.

Hmm, probably be well served having the main/off-hand weapons costed differently, so the first weapon is cheap but the second is more pricey. Not implying that it needs to be a dramatic difference in most cases but it would be a way to control the whole wargear list on a case by case basis.
Because your Storm/'Ardboy won't have access to Shootas, so I guess if your a Dakka Git you might pursue twin Sluggas. New class: Cowboyz ? o_O

I'm assuming Orks have their weapon size restricted by class same as Astartes. Pretty safe bet.
