  1. Aren't Volkite Blasters rarer in 40k than even the Ordinatus weapon systems? Mostly because Volkites were unstable and the Forge Worlds manufacturing them were either destroyed, disabled, or currently controlled by the forces of Chaos.

I just find the fact of someone running around with Volkites... Intense. I want the Mechanicus force to not be a military presence here unless they earn it (aka make good excuses to have more military presence). And Volkites are... Intense as i said.
  3. I agree, plasma weapons in itself like Sunfurys are already super rare outside of the Inquisition and high ranking special forces. Volkites are like Vampiric Blades, should not be in any RP unless we want to become Inquisitors.

Uriel...it started to be intense since you got two Magi for a colonization effort...
    He is a Mechlord.
Running around with crazy weaponry is what he does and to be frank...Gamma Pistol is worse, since the former is 'known' to pierce a ceramite plate of Astartes Armor with a single shot.
Gamma Pistol will incinerate his Armor, his organics and Leman Russ behind him.

They are still in production but are rare. Some Space Marine Chapters are sporting such weapons as well as heavier version of Volkite technology. There is a variation of a Fellglaive that uses Volkite technology and Dark Angels and Salamanders are know to use this rare gift of the Machine God.

I don't care what he is, nor what a darn Glaive is in comparison. We have no Glaives here, and then I guess I should demand him less than a Mechlord in rank to even it out, if that is the problem. No Volkite, how you resolve it - is up to you, since all the Ad Mech chars go first through you, and especially as specialist in Ad Mech and Imp Technology matters I entrust you will find a good solution for all affected.

Its alright Zeth. I'll take a plasma weapon any day honestly. While I don't know why it's "Intense" since were the mechanicus forces, anything Alpha and above start getting all them scary weapons and you're rolling. I could have a Vulcan mega Bolter and it would matter since if I dont roll to hit, nothing happens. I didn't add the weapon for fun, it comes with him stock on his Char profile on TT.

Just some prospective coming from the only TRUE balance 40k does and will have(since in lore everything is op)
    Boltgun: Str 4 Ap5 24" Rapid fire
    Heavy Bolter: Str5 AP4 48"
Plasma gun: Str6 Ap2 24" Rapid fire, Gets hot
    Volkite Blaster: Str6 Ap5 24" Deflag
    Gamma Pistol: Str 6 Ap2 12" Armorbane`

Ill take a plasma if thats more acceptable.

You know that oddly bugs me, Between, Table top and Role play, 40k Which can you take to true lore on weapons and armor. Would it be more table top or more with how roleplay books balance it.

    I love Gamma Pistol!
Sadly...I don't roll with it on this char.
I am rather...poorly equipped (in both armaments and augmentations) considering my char. is a Magos.

I say this only once, though I think @Jorimel & @Casavay are the only ones who know that of me: I give a crap about the TT rules ^^ In the lore stuff is always different since there are far far far far more variables than just stats. For example wind, morale, actual distance, etc.

PDF Soldier with Missile Launcher that shoots face of a Carnifex, insta-dead, Period. #HappenedInTheBooks
Scrapcoding a thing that does not exactly exists in TT?
Producing make-shift weapons thanks of being some sort of engineer, try that in TT and give it stats.

I don't care what those rules say, especially since TT also utterly ignores the rarity of weapons or any such things such as custom modifications as a player would have to make house rules anyway. And I will rule with Lore over TT anyday, because that is how combat will run, too. Too many players for rolling with actual stats. So everything will be done at discretion of the (Co-)GMs based on current situations.

The big difference is that TT is actually GW, and the Roleplays are (mostly?) Fantasy Flight Games aka FFG. Third-Party, etc. etc. And the fact that TT has to incorporate all races whereas the RPs only have to accommodate whatever the players can play as and what enemies one encounters - everything else is up to the GM to make up.
