Hive Mind is the worst idea ever, no. No Astartes. I want to stay open to suggestions if I limit in any shape or form, people are not going to inquire crazy ideas, plus perhaps Astartes are allowed at a later point of the RP, for example should you build have a Deathwatch Station in Orbit (and even if it's just a listening outpost).
What of forming alliances with Space Marine Chapters, providing resources for protection or some such arrangement. Not that they'll need it with my ship patrolling the sector.
How would that work? Wouldn't building a death watch station or listening post more in on a Inquisition decision instead of a colonies,. If we discovered a alien presence it would be possible to warn the Inquisition and that could trigger them building a listening post or a station. I can only see if we would find something alien or demonic, or Heretical events happening that would trigger the Inquisition coming and spending resources on a colony.
That also would be a possibility. For example by becoming a Recruitment world. The space station belongs to them, not the world. And the Inquisition does not need any reasoning whatsoever to build a listening outpost. The possibility of a potential Tyranid attack alone could be enough reasoning to put a little station up there. You must remember. A listening outpost most likely would be only staffed by AdMech personnel, perhaps an Acolyte and that's it.
We would also have to have a tough world that produces very Tough people for a astarte recruiting world. Fleet based chapter that come by every so often might find it Viable to check out a colony.
No you don't. Some chapters are desperate enough to take whatever the hell they can get if their numbers are low enough. Imagine you are a chapter of 1000 guys, have a huge tyranid campaign or participate in the 13th black crusade or 3rd war of armageddon and your chapter is reduced to 10-20% of it's former glory. I am pretty sure you take whatever the hell you can. For example should the system become quite well in manufacturing vehicles, perhaps a chapter may get interested in getting tanks and/or weapons from there, and then why not also take some warriors? Or if the people from this world are just very honorable and what not, then the Astartes may take them, too. Perhaps there is high psyker affinity for some reason and a Chapter who focuses on that perhaps wants them and promises protection from the inquisition instead, etc. etc. There are many possibilities and you think too shallow....
Didn't you also say no psykers. Due to them drawing trouble? I Think crazily at times and at others shallows my mind is like a sea. I can imagine a chapter coming if we have a good forge world or for warriors or serfs but I imagine most chapter have standards for when recruiting even when at low numbers. You know that did make me think of something would there ever be a possibility of the governor requisitioning a assassin or support from a Inquisition. if the threat proves big enough to send one. Also whats the chances of death cults of the emperor popping up? Can Grall convert those death cultists into more redemtionists? if so is it possible to turn our world into a shrine world? If it turns into a shrine world is there a possibility of somehow getting a order of sisters here or founded here?
