  1. I outrank you as a member of the Adeptus Arbites, I can throw your entire family lineage in jail. Essentially I have almost as much power as a Commissar in that I could get away with anything except unlike a Commissar, my power is law everywhere and not with just one military branch.
  2. You'd be hard pressed to accuse a ranking member of the Imperial Navy of anything less than heresy. Which is beyond your jurisdiction, unless you magically became an Inquisitor.

Where do you think the name Alexie came from?

While it is a cool idea to have a former officer for an Astartes Chapter among the crew, it would have to be aboard a standard Naval cruiser of some kind. Because an Astartes Strike-Cruiser would be too bananas, in my opinion. Also, yay for that portrait. Lets go hunt space whales!
  4. "I can also correct you on a point of formal law. We are the Adeptus Arbites. The vessel by which the Emperor's laws have travelled down the ages. We light and keep the beacon of the Emperor’s Law so that all His Imperium can guide their lives by it, and we see to it that those who turn away from that beacon and cause themselves and others to stumble are made to pay. We determine the guilty, we decide the punishment. I have witnessed judgments of officers of the Navy and of the Imperial Guard and of planetary and system governors. I have twice helped to pass sentence on men and women of both those organizations, some of them more highly ranked than you, gate-captain."

He makes a fair point. Imperial Guard and Navy follow the orders of Sector Command and past that, Departmento Munitorum and then Administratum. But all subjects of the Imperium (Yes, even Inquisitors when the Arbitrator is ballsy enough) fall under the Lex Imperialis. Long arm of Imperial Law, indeed.

Of course, how practical it is for an Arbitrator to try and arrest a man in charge of a military force can always be questioned. Especially when a Lord-General could in certain circumstances declare martial law. Those are extreme situations, however.

When dealing with Navy, Guard or any that isnt his planets subjects he has to have the political or someother might to enforce the law even if it is his right.
  7. You do realize I hold the rank of the third highest Adeptus Arbite official, second only to being in charge of an entire Segmentum. My character doesn't need to when you're that high up in the chain of command and the only person I will answer to is the High Lords of Terra and the Emperor.

My character will not hesitate to bring down the mailed fist of the Emperors justice if he finds it lacking and earning the support of the Commissar and the Mechanicus would not be that hard as convincing a Commissar that a commanding officer of His Imperial Forces is either emotionally compromised, incompetent of command, or a traitor to Him on Terra would not be that hard. The Mechanicus would be even easier to convince since as the highest power outside of the Inquisition in determining Imperial Law it is also within my right to levy out Imperial Assets and overrule the Administratum.

"Justicars are powerful officials within the Arbites hierarchy who may be tasked by their Lord Marshal or even the Grand Provost Marshal himself with troubleshooting duties spanning an entire sector or even several regions of the Imperium where the Emperor's justice has dimmed."
    - Long Arm of the Emperor's Law: Adeptus Arbites in Inquisitor

Think of it this way. If there is no Governor elected, the Governor is assassinated and/or martial law is declared, I am immediately installed as the overall Commanding Officer. It's listed as an official power of the Adeptus Arbites and even referenced in "The Word Bearers Omnibus" in which the punishment for incompetence was execution of the Governor in front of the entire political and military hierarchy.

So it's not in anyones best interest to give the Adeptus Arbites reason to believe you are no longer faithful or loyal to the God-Emperor nor would you want to miss the annual tithe either.

After some review and research I believe Pontifex Mundi might be a far more fitting rank considering the bits and bobs of back story discussed between @Uriel1339 and myself. Should he wish Abel to go full on Deacon so be it but the rank mentioned above had a better, less drastic shift to it while still seeming to fulfill the appropriate role. Also switched up the equipment a teeny bit to reflect rank increase for this fellow and the traditions of the attached Regiments.

    Name
    : Abel Malctarik
    Gender: Male
    Age: 67
    Role: Pontifex Mundi
Affiliation: The God Emperor of Mankind, Imperium - Adeptus Ministorum
Equipment: Bolt Pistol, Well Worn Carapace Armor, Pendant of Office, Power Maul
Home World: Schola Progenium, Unknown, Unimportant
History:An orphan of war left in the hands of the Schola like so many other young Imperial citizens Abel was put through the same stringent regimen of academic and physical education as any other student. Demonstrating a zeal for the good word of the God Emperor but not quite cut out for Storm Trooper duties nor any real aptitude for military leadership Abel was quickly cast into the hands of the Adeptus Ministorum. Beyond energetic and none too afraid to get his hands dirty for man kind Abel was attached early on to a regiment of the Imperial Guard. So it would be that the preacher would spend a few years or the length of a campaign before moving on to a new regiment until at last approximately twenty years ago he found himself tending the faith of the 68th Harakoni Warhawks.

Displaying no small amount of enthusiasm for their method of combat Abel quickly came to take on their own style of combat taking the time to learn the various drills and techniques of the drop troopers, sometimes under live fire. Protected by faith and fury, and eventually a set of carapace armor after a rather endearing incident involving an emergency fill in for an under strength weapon team, Abel seemed to of found himself a home of sorts and would remain with them until their most recent deployment as the military arm of a colonizing effort.

Of course with any grand undertaking by the Imperium there are of course hang ups, and in this particular expedition something has run afoul within the ranks of the Ministorum and for reasons unknown much of its upper leadership has been left rather...dead. As one of the few ranking members at hand and a much preferred alternative to the Redemptionist Cain Abel has been elevated to oversee matters of import upon the initial colonized world, a duty he has taken to without complain though he mourns the fact it will keep him away from the battlefield, a place that admittedly his advanced age has been less and less suited to.

Got my charterer sheet submit to the GM to be checked out first. Sorry I took so long, was looking at knight houses and trying to get a history together.

And, here is my sheet @Uriel1339 !

Name: Sigma-Eta 11, also known as Serna
    Age: 37
    Gender: Female- Abhuman(Felinid)
    Affiliation: Adeptus Mechanics
Class/Role: Skitarius Alpha, Guardian of the Magos Artisan.
Home/Homeworld: Born on Carlos McConell. Inducted on Forge World Lucius.

Equipment: Gamma Pistol-"Gaze of the Omnissiah",
    Transonic Blade-"Edge of Reason"
Manipulator + Poison Injector(Built into her Bionic Tail)- "Scorpion's Sting"

    Onmispex,
    Mindscrambler Grenades,
    Enhanced Data-Tether,
    Infoslave Skull,
    Skitarii War-Plate,
    Crux Mechanicus,

History: When Serna was born, nobody at the time would have guessed that her future laid within the ranks of the Mechanicum, a natural affinity for machinery and fighting being the early hints of the path she would end up taking, and it was those same talents that brought her to the attention of a Magos as being good Skitarii material.

Converted into a Protector at the tender age of 19, Sigma-Eta 11 as she was designated was trained as both a guardian to the Priesthood and a destroyer of those that would blaspheme against the Machine God, and served in many campaigns against both heretics that dared to defy the Omnissiah's will and Xenos, often found in the thick of the fighting.

The event in her long and varied career that resulted in a Gamma Pistol being entrusted to her care was a act of near suicidal heroism against the machinations of the Tau, where the Skitarius had managed to fend off two squads of Fire Warriors and a few of the infernal Tau battlesuits, and therefore had managed to reverse the Xeno's fortune in that sector of the battlefront.

    Appearance:
Clad from head to toe in the robes and Skitarii War-Plate of Forge World Lucius, Protector Sigma-Eta 11 has had most of her internal body structure and organs replaced with more efficient mechanical replacements.
If one removed Serna's angular helmet, her Felinid origin would be obvious due to the cat ears and rust-red fur and hair, and the mark of the Mechanicum clear with her bronze rebreather and googles. The tail which is endemic to that species of Abhuman has been replaced with a mechanical one.

The Protecter's enhanced body is heavily scarred from the numerous surgeries to replace the feeble flesh, with her legs replaced from the knee down and arms replaced from the elbow down, she has long since passed the point of being more machine than (Ab)human.
