"Smooth as always Commissar," he said with a nod. He then looked to the growing group and then back to the Commissar, "No quarrels here Commissar. Though the air around here is fresh with tension, mistrust, and paranoia..." He then took a deep breath, smelling the air, before exhaling, "And a very suddle hint of personal agenda. If I'm not mistaken...All the things that are familiar with exploratory and colonisation meetings."
"So you like things organized? That's a neat skill to have," she replied absently as more people entered the room and her gaze danced between them and the Commissar, who turned out to be quite polite. Jannika smiled. She had always been a good judge of characters. After all, she learned from the best. "Yeah don't worry Commissar, I can at least vouch for us from the Navy to keep it cool and in case something occurs, my guys will keep it contained. You can count on us." Turning around, Jannika heard another voice speaking to one of them, an older looking fellow who was obviously a representative of the church. "You guys worry too much. See how Father here is nice and kind, but really. So far, other than the grim looking Judge, which by no means is a bad thing since that's his job, most of the people gathered look quite friendly. Not counting Mechanicum guys who look quite...metallic?"
@Colapse @matt23 Gale Entered the briefing room in a semi formal outfit, A Red coat with black Trimmings, and blue pants and black boots, His blonde hair had had grey streaks in it but was kept clean along with his beard trimmed so it was not messy, A hint smell of Tobacco came from him small enough for those who looked for it, On his waste was a belt containing a holstered las-Pistol and a Fine looking power sword that had several Emblems belonging to the mechnicus and a knight house family. Gale took his spot between both the Navy and mechnicus greeting both faction calmly and respectfully. His eyes looked to everyone in the room, The amount of guards everyone brought was more then what was needed, he could see already everyone were showing there hands of power, Almost just like home, he thought to himself, There would likely be manly rivalry within the room even ambitious men and women but all respected for there service in skill for the emperor. It would prove a interesting day as he looked at the Holo-Display of the system. Few of the worlds looked interesting, one of them looked like a good agriworld, another looked like it would even need his own assistance, A water world that looked to have giant sea creatures, If any colonized upon there It would be good to have a knight on the ground to deal with large sea creatures if and when they ever popped up, he smile a bit thinking on house Degallio and there ship bound home, He then looked to the Two moons, one of them looking to have good deposits for mines another having low gravity, maybe the Magos could use it to produce a World that held a large force, He would stay silent about his own thoughts on the worlds till he heard others. As he heard other already beginning discussion he decided to greet himself with others of Imperial Navy, He was quite, Quite thankful for Captain Jannika, Letting him and Silion aboard when they Volunteered to join in this Colonist Expedition, He himself knew to be respectful for anyone ship machine spirit and there crew. "Greetings Captains Jannika and Captain Mathius. Quite a full room today it seems, Everyone seems to be quite ready for the worst, If I could ask what do you think of these worlds that look to be colonized?" Gale asked as he looked to the two closest navy captains to him.
"Of course, I have full faith in Naval Security to keep the peace, should pride rear it's ugly head. I'm sure whatever you're sniffing at Captain is merely someone's poor taste in cologne." Taval took a visible effort to air out his great coat, willing for the moment to play along and even humble himself to make it clear that he would do his best to keep peace between Imperial Navy and Imperial Guard. "Of course that might also be a leftover scent from a Mukaali." A Commissar must keep the peace where necessary, enforce it when needed. The former was easier by appearing human and capable of mistakes. The latter would quickly dispel such notions, should the need arise.
Seeing the amount of conversations taking place between delegations. Renald took the time to Reorganize the data stored on his Data-slate. It was certainly an old and seemingly menial tool, But it was his favorite tool. Upon activation, multiple sections opened up. Some were journals from his past days, some were writings of discoveries from his days as an explorator, Others were of his information: Finances, Personal belongings, and another section scrolled past, but his eyes still knew where it was. the Title read only one word, "Xenos". He kept at it. It seemed to be a past time of his these days, to reorganize data to ensure it was all in its correct places. As he was reorganizing, he eyed the Executor observing all the parties. Almost like he was waiting for one of them to make the first move to show their plans for their new world. Renald spoke to the Executor in Binary, "Waiting for one of the other Delegations to open Dialogue, Executor Saul?"
General Draken with a smile hooked the PDF Commander around the shoulder and walked over to the military contingent of this meeting. " Ladies and Gentlemen, I see you all stole our Commissar. Anything worrying? " He was giving a disarming smile and cheer that didn' t match his somber appearance.
The Commissar turned and took a step back, allowing the General to more properly address the pair of Naval Captains that he had been conversing with. "Lord General, I am afraid that there is something quite worrying. I have been among pleasant Naval company for a few minutes now, and neither of them have cursed the Guard as of yet." Taval took his hat off for a moment to run a gloved hand through his hair, watching Captains Jannika and Mathius with mock suspicion. Or very real suspicion. Who knew?
Daimon raised an eyebrow at the Captains. " Truely? Why I think that is worrying. What's wrong, something bigger coming up or our pilots smoothing things?" His smile was plastered on his face but who could tell what is behind it.
[So this is the Pontifex? He plays the part of an old man well] Saul commented in binary. He encoded his cant so that the Knights would be unable to decipher their conversation. [We should be wary. The Ministorum is well versed in using kind words to praise the faithful and condemn their enemies in equal measure] he spat. Without skipping a beat, Saul met the old mans smile with one of his own. He also met Gale's greeting with one of his own. He so enjoyed all this posturing. He thrived in such an environment. "Gentlemen, though I ask your forgiveness in advance, I humbly suggest you take your seats" Saul stated, gesturing to towards the Prefectus Prima. "Her ladyship is no doubt eager to begin, as we all are" [Not at all, my Lord. I am merely observing the natural flow of authority within the room. Making observations. Studying our new allies and identifying potential threats to our objectives. I don't see many thus far. Only time will tell] Saul replied.
@Vulpas "Hello there Sir Gale," Jannika extended a hand in greeting, "Yup, pretty much everyone and their mother are here today. Miss Darius must have something super important to say. As for the worlds, I say Forest world because despite me liking a place with proper beaches and all, still, I don't wanna get my feel chewed off by a random sea critter. What about you?" @Skarboy @TechCaptain "And nah, Lord General sir, there was no cursing yet. I blame the lack of alcohol in the room. What do you think will be decided here, now that we are so close to an actual deployment and no real enemy is in sight? Although looking at the people in the room, I think that's an understatement. But in the end, you shouldn't worry much. When you get down, know that we'll cover your back."
