In the wide spread galaxy, one civilization ruled above all - dominating the galaxy with an iron fist. Being threatened by traitors, mutants and aliens. They all had to be annihilated, that was clear. But nonetheless this civilization, the Imperium of Mankind, continued to expand and secure ground. One of those systems that were chosen as further symbol of the glory of the Imperium was Ven-Tus, deep in the Segmentum Ultima. To the galactic north, there laid the world of Carthago Nuevo. To the south-east, there laid the homeworld of the Rainbow Warriors, Prism. Bringing the world interestingly and dangerously close to the Ghoul Stars. But that was also why this colony force had a surprisingly high amount of soldiers, and the actual colonial force coming in a second wave and from then on continuously coming in, until the system is self-sufficient.

The Adeptus Arbites, Adeptus Mechanicus, the Ecclessiarchy, Astra Militarum, Imperial Navy and even the Administratum came together from a multitude of worlds to conquer the system in the Holy God-Emperor's name, just like he and his sons did during the Great Crusade thousands of years ago. It is one of the few traditions that Mankind held true to, even before their space-faring times.

The brave expedition had arrived no less than 1 month as their leaders were coming together on the mighty flagship and so far capital of the system, Reckoning Hour, it's briefing room having been declared as neutral grounds, where leaders and retinue came together. The room capable of holding a hundred men and women.

    In attendance were:
    - Imperial Navy:
    --- Admiral Alexie Tyrannous Tockman
    --- Wing-Captain Durhan Apker
    --- Captain Jannika Oswald
    --- Captain Mathius von Webber

    - Imperial Guard (Harakoni Warhawks):
    --- General Daimon Draken
    --- Commissar Aret Taval
    --- Chief Medicae Davian Mourtouge
    --- Lieutenant Jonathan Black

    - Adeptus Arbites:
--- Chief Justicar Ordwin Esquire Rahl

    - Adeptus Mechanicus:
    --- Artisan Magos Xi-Lomax Zeth
    --- Magos Errant Renald Argoe
    --- Skitarius Alpha Sigma-Eta 11 (aka Serna)
    --- ??? (@Jorimel )
--- Executor & Ad. Mech. Ambassador Saul Haxx

    - Ecclessiarchy:
    --- Pontifex Mundi Abel Malctarik
--- Redemptionist Cain 'the Crimson Prophet'

    - Administratum:
--- Prefect Primus Iv [„Eev“] Darius

    - Civilian (PDF) Representative:
--- PDF Leader (Major) Adeon Acorda

    - Special Operational Forcess:
    --- Freeblade Gale Orion
    --- Sacristan Silon von Saazbraum

And while the meeting's core agenda was to decide which planet to colonize, they also had to deal with certain... Surprises. First off, the former Pontifex Mundi, Kane Treybard, had perished from a mysterious heart attack. Leaving his Deacon and personal assistant for decades, Abel Malcatarik in charge as his successor. The only witnesses of these events were Abel himself and Redemptionist Cain.

Then within the Adeptus Mechanicus, who was truly in charge? The Magos Artisan who has been given the duty to oversee construction and ensure all is at top-notch efficiency. Or Executor Saul who was sent from Mars to ensure the relationship between the new colony and Mars, or possibly Metallica, is intact - just incase the resources in this system are more valuable than anticipated.

Then there was Adeon Acorda who made it to his own goal to establish a formidable PDF upon wish of Administrator Iv Darius, having been a senior member among the Harakoni, he was now here after his retirement and upon invitation of Lady Darius. An offer he couldn't have refused. But would it make it easier, or more difficult, that the rest of the Harakoni served here as the Hammer of the Imperium?

Gale Orion's presence was perhaps confusing, if not even threatening to one or the other. A Freeblade Knight of a distant world, having established some sort of relationship with Captain Jannika Oswald and though he was serving the Imperium, who could say he was not going to favor her over others? Imperial Politics were always... Complex.

Within the Imperial Navy and Guard there at least existed pure, clear structure. Admiral Alexie and General Daimon being respectively in charge. However, would their military pride get into the way, was a question, yet to be answered. The Navy's duty was void warfare and shipping the Imperial Guard from A to B. The Guard's duty was to fight on the ground and secure the area. Only if both hands acted together, they would succeed. But then again.... There could be glory gained, more than imaginable, it was a unique situation and for both leaders it was an opportunity to join the halls of fame.

But one threatening danger for all colonists was the presence of Chief Justicar Ordwin. Wielding the power of bringing justice, could also easily be manipulated by other members of this colony to be abused, if the... Right offer could be made. Or would he remain strong and loyal to the Lex Imperialis, destroying every seed of corruption before it could spread? The Arbites would either ensure that corruption shall have no power here, or the very opposite.

Last but not least, the current most likely going to be governor was Lady Iv Darius, Prefect Primus of the Adeptus Administratum. Ensuring that all has it's order, all numbers are correct, that tithe shall be paid once a tithe classification is decided upon, and to ensure that all parties work together. She has been designated with this task by the High Lords of Terra themselves and there shall nothing in the way of ensuring that bureaucratic order is to 100% in effect, for that was her duty to the Imperium.

And as the last person sat down... The meeting began... With leaving anyone to start, as the holo-desk projected the system and it's information:

System Stars - Twin Stars (Red & Blue)
    - Ven (Red Star)
    - Tus (Blue Star)

    System Size - 2 planets:
    - Ven Primaris (Waterworld - 90% Water, 10% Land, Deathworld, due to giant sea monsters - orbits Ven)
    - Tus Primaris (Forestworld - 90% Forest, 10% Mountains, Low Water Reservoirs, due to many animals & plants - ideal for food supplies - orbits Tus)

2 Moons (both in orbit of the Waterworld Ven Primaris)
#1 - Ven I - Luna-like moon (Grey Rock), Scans show high potential for valuable ores (high density & massive weight), samples required.
#2 - Ven II - Polar-moon (Very Icy, very cold), Scans show that the moon has low gravity which could make it ideal for massive constructions)

[And so the curtain opens for this theatrical display 'The Colonization of Ven-Tus'!

Renald seated next to Executor Saul, who sat next to Magos Xi-Lomax. On the next seat past the magos, was the Skitarius Alpha designated Sigma-Eta 11. Among the members of the mechanicum present, Argoe was a bit curious about the unusual additions to Sigma-Eta 11. Perhaps it is because he has not been around skitarii long enough to know what counts as "normal" for appearances. Glyph floated to his side, it's optics constantly scanning the room. Renald gave commands in Holy Binary to the machine, sounding nothing more than a very quiet buzzing to anyone close enough to hear who did not possess the necessary implants. "Revert to standby, Return to operator port and enter shutdown state. The Omnissiah protects." Glyph reverted to it's normal mode before floating into Renald's open hand and shutting down. Renald placed the Servo Skull into his robes and returned to listening closely to the rest of the attendees of the meeting.
  3. Silon von Baazbraum, Sacristan of Freeblade Orion, sits respected distance behind his Master, enough close to be part of his retinue, far enough to show his place belongs behind him. More than in one meaning.
His hood is laid down, showing his white hair and wrinkled face. Careful spectator notices few implant ports behind his ear and neck, high quality craftsmanship and almost natural looking. The censer on his waist faintly smokes, the incense light and pleasant, that kind of fragrance one quickly gets used to and ignores.

As he silently listen and observers the meeting, tip of mechatendril peeks secretly from collar of his robes and sends quick binary acknowledge towards Magos(es?) of Adeptus Mechanicus.
  4. Having been the first to enter the chamber with a small entourage of Enforcers, the Chief Justicar waited patiently at the head of the soon to be full briefing room and watched with piercing eyes as each newcomer took their place. Flanked by either side in fully armed and armored Arbites, the Justicar himself was no more imposing than was to be believed of a servant of the Lex Imperialis. As the chief enforcer of the Emperors' Will, he had taken no chances with security as the dominating forms of over two dozen Arbites were positioned evenly around the chamber standing at attention and a small force guarded the main entrance. There was little hiding the play of power being emanated from this order but who could know the Chief Justicars true agenda?

Ram-rod straight to the point even an Astartes would of grimaced in defeat, his admantium strong form dominated most of the rooms presence with an air of barely contained righteous fury as if at any moment there would be a heretic to cleanse or traitor to be...dealt with...no one knew why he had been chosen for this position and fewer had heard him yet to utter a single word.

Where many others had already begun the rumor mill and lesser conversations of what to be done, the mailed fist of the Adeptus Arbites was already waiting, lurking in the light for the first pawns to fall into place. As the Prefect entered the room, Chief Justicar Rahl made his first noticeable movement by ceding his position to the representative of the Administratum and taking up another perch of power to her flank. Not a single word or gesture had yet been muttered between them but the Lex Imperialis was clear, this would not be the time to rule the political theater, leave that to the treacherous snakes and worms of the Munitorium and the supposedly puritan Administratum.

Having made certain that the last members had taken their seats or stances around the table, their was a small exchange of words between the leader of the Arbites and unknown persons before the great doorways leading to the chamber were shut. No sooner had the doors clamored together that power whined through ancient servos as the isolation field activated to ensure the contents of the rooms discussion would not be overheard by unwanted ears. With the proceedings now fully contained and secured, the latest fiasco of this void bound circus could truly begin.

Jannika was one of the first in the briefing room as well, having known the layout of the battleship given the fact it was not her first time here. Despite her somewhat easygoing attitude that intentionally gave off the wrong first impression, she was followed by a squad of ten men, who despite their Navy uniforms gave away a feel of clenched anger of men who seen it all, especially when considering the numerous scars on their faces as well as plenty of weapons they carried. They stood at the entrance besides the people from the Arbites but retaining strict military discipline and keeping it to their own while Jannika herself sat down at the place designated for officers of the Imperial Navy.

Young captain wore her leather jacked and high boots while an inferno pistol was holstered on her hip, the leather of its grip well-used and maintained. She shot glances across the room but they were the looks of a woman who disliked such meetings, especially because they involved lots of politics and aimless bickering among various branches of the Imperium. But duty was duty and orders must be completed no matter how you felt about it, therefore she just sat here and looked uninterested in the proceedings while only one sensible thought kept on forming in her brain.

Thank the Emperor I'm not the person in charge of all this shit.

Lord General Draken entered the room unassumingly. His quiet appearance at the doorway attracted little attention as he scanned the room before he made way for his area to be in. He brought no guards and few of even moderate rank. His assurance of his position and safety was such maneuvers were unneeded. His retinue was small for his purpose was fairly clear and so were his objectives.
He look on the proceedings as people filed in until he saw the one slated to be the PDF commander. " Major, greetings. Glad to see your well enough to take Lady Darius's offer." He stuck his hand out to give a strong handshake showing the man honor.
One could only tell the General by the traditional suit of the Harakoni Warhawks that he wore. Surprisingly simple and lacking of decoration. His rank was simply stitched into his collar. His appearance made him look like someone's staffer and not the staff leader.

Mathius von Webber walked in not long after Jannika with his hands behind his back and a relaxed look on his face. His red coat covered most the length of his body and the hellpistol underneath it. The only weapon that could be seen was his power sword that was on his right hip.

Though it would seem many thought this to be a meeting of who can intimidate who, Mathius couldn't of cared less about who brought who to the meeting. This was not his first run in with these sorts and knew full well what was aloud and what wasn't. Accompanying him was no one as he walked past all the Arbites, intentionally ignoring them as he viewed their presence as somewhat of an insult.

He then made his way to the table, took a seat near Jannika (@Colapse ), and leaned back in it to relax, "Well this should be quite interesting. Just the sort of lot that makes me glad I reside within the Navy and my feet never touch terra." He then took his journal from his coat, unlocked it, and looked for a blank page. Once he found a blank page he took a pen in hand and began to make notes.
  8. Davian Mourtouge looked around as he entered the room, being one of the group coming in with the General. He is a tall man, with short black hair with a short black mustache, roughly 50 years old. His hair already has gray areas (the classical salt and pepper). His white doctors robe, spotless clean flaps as he walks in, his boots simple and black but shining, walks into the room with a certain confidence and certainty. His grey eyes scans over the room, looking over the people gathered. He dosen't say anything, as he followed the general, taking a look of the PDF commander.
  9. Mechaius Mechiaus Prefectus

Executor Saul Haxx reclined thoughtfully in his high backs chair, as the others took their seats. Clad in a high collared suit of somber black, a stark contrast to the deep Crimson robes of his associates, he struck a unique figure. His augmentations were less obvious, yet still present. He wanted to draw the focus to himself, rather then the Magi, as it would make negotiation easier. A soldier or administrator could relate to another human face. Less so to a hooded cyborg with glowing eyes.

As the isolation field hummed into life, there was a sudden silence in the back of Saul's mind, as his connection to the Noosphere was abruptly cut off. It would take some time to reconfigure the data streams, but it would be restored eventually. Until then, the Mechanicus delegation would resign themselves to their local connections to relay their thoughts.

In truth they had a great advantage, as they were the only ones able to openly discuss their opinions without the others understanding, save for the Freeblade, who even now extended a simple binaric greeting to Magos-Artisan Zeth. A normal custom amongst the Machine Gods servants. Saul replied on the Magos-Artisans behalf, exloading a formal greeting in rely.

Saul did not yet trust the Freeblade. He was not from a Forgeworld Saul was familiar with, nor was he of a house with assured loyalties to the Mechanicum. His loyalty lay with his Master, who was not of the Adeptus. Most peculiar. Saul had sent inquiries to his agents to look into Silon Von Baazbraum. While he was happy to have a Knight amongst their forces, why this one? He would discover that in time.

For now, his eyes locked on the rigid figure of Chief Justicar Rahl. A cold and remorseless Arbitrator if ever there was. Saul had encounter his type on dozens of other worlds. Angry Firebrands with itchy trigger fingers. Outwardly, they were bastions of righteous fury, just waiting for an excuse to lash out at those they perceived to be less devout then themselves. Hurricanes trapped inside a glass bottle. But even the righteous had their flaws. No man rose to a position of authority in the Imperium without a few skeletons in their closet. It was only a matter of finding the soft spots in their seemingly impenetrable armour, apply the right amount of pressure, and they toppled over like a stack of parchment.

Saul would keep a close eye on Rahl. Judges were always problematic, but Saul was nothing if not a dedicated problem solver. Rahl looked like he would be a tough man to bring down. He always did enjoy a challenge.

Saul reached for one of the crystal pitcher that line the centre of the table, filling a glass with water for himself and taking a sip. His internal sensors found no trace of foreign substance in the fluid. He swallowed and pondered over the flavour. Not bad, but likely the best the Navy could do.

Once Prefect Primus Lady Darius took her seat, Saul set down his glass. He eyed up the officers around the table. He had read their dossiers. Each was capable and straight forward. These were soldiers, not politicians like Saul was use to. That would make things interesting indeed.

Overall though, Saul was still uneasy. There was yet a formal declaration of who was actually in charge politically. Though it was likely Lady Darius would assume the mantle of leadership, the words had yet to be spoken. If the announcement was made now or later, it did not matter. Saul would ensure the Mechanicum had a decisive place in the hierarchy. Especially if the Pontifex Maximus attempted to make any plays. He so loathed the Ecclesiarchy, so much so that he secretly hoped those idiots tried something. He took an almost unhealthy amount of pleasure in undermining the Adeptus Ministorum.

There was no greater joy in Saul's life, then breaking the resolve of a priest. The damn gelt hoarding fiends!

A dark figure passed through the doorway next, hands clasped tightly behind his back and piercing eyes observing the room beneath an aquila emblazoned cap. An officer's great coat hung about his shoulders like a pall of death, a specter of judgement and retribution visiting upon them. Aret Taval's grimace deepened as he surveyed lines being drawn already, the political animal within him coming to the fore. The idea of this meeting had nearly driven him to a migraine that morning cycle, the Commissar already yearning for screaming shells, iron, and combat. He was a warrior of the God-Emperor! But if the God-Emperor demanded this of him.. Then so be it.

Boots oiled to an impeccable shine clicked their way down the steps as the Officio Prefectus representative placed himself halfway between both Guard and Naval branches, offering both a nod and even a handshake should officials from either side summon up the courage to approach him. Taval even took a moment to tip his cap to the carapace clad members of the Arbites, acknowledging their shared background within the Schola Progenium. The thugs of the Schola given an almost limitless authority, whereas men such as he had struggled, bled, and murdered his way to a likewise position strictly within the confines of the Munitorum.. It was a peculiar feeling, much like a reunion of classmates after the long years.

Regardless of his own opinion of Schola recruits bound for the Adeptus Arbites, it was certainly a branch of Imperial Government that the General would have to get along with. As Draken's political officer, that fell to Taval and given he had no authority over the Justicar - And as he doubted very much that Rahl would appreciate a peace offering of amasec, he would simply have to wait and watch for an opening to extend an olive branch.
