See your Orks win over the course of years and almost completely killed a Craftworld and you still not happy!! >.< What you want? Them killing an actual entire Craftworld? lol. That ain't happen just like the Bad Moonz will never be completely killed.
Yes, killing an -entire- Craftworld that GW just pulled out of its behind so they could introduce their new Phoenix Prince would've been quite a feat. Comparable to the hundreds of Ork-held planets that have been liberated/enslaved/eaten by every other faction. Besides, what have the Orkz ever won (not counting the fact that they are constantly winning in an orky fashion because they are constantly fighting) ? The second the Orkz actually do take over a planet, you can bet your sweet ass that an Imperial/Eldar/Tau/whatever Liberation fleet comes in and kicks them right off the planet again. Can you imagine the hot tears of Imperial fanboys if the SM or the IG actually would attack an Ork-held planet....and lose? Getting killed or being driven off planet? Even the Ghazkull, the closest thing that the Orkz have to a "big boss" promptly got his ass kicked by Yarrick, and whatever victories he had are little more than footnotes for a story about how Yarrik is great.
I'll have to admit that I'm kind of weary of some factions almost constantly winning while some others are rarely shown to achieve anything more than a temporary victory or a hidden objective or w/e. There is a old guy with a beard that would probably have killed off at least TWO First Founding Space Marine Chapters by now. For good.
The whole problem is that Orks are exactly like that. Tides. A tide breaks after a longer time, until a new one comes eventually again. That is why the Orks don't rule the galaxy by now despite being almost as old as the Eldar.
A tide can, however, drown entire countries over it. As it supposedly happened with Atlantis. The Tyranids are the tide. They sweep across everything and leave nothing but barren wastelands, only being pushed back by large wavebreakers (such as the experimental Ultramarine Suicide Ship). The Orkz, by comparison, are portrayed as random goons that come into play whenever GW feels it needs to prove how badass one guy or another is.
Don't get me wrong, I understand you... I feel same for Tau. I mean last codex even re-wrote they lost against Gorgon @.@ The prob I see with the Orks though is that it's kinda the expectations of fans, through franchises like LotR and such Orks simply became well..... Meatbags with the destiny to die :/
You are right, safe for the part that it are the expectations of a -part- of the fanbase. As said before, if SMs would ever lose a long-term scenario against the Orkz, the butthurt about "muh super genetic ultra warriors!!11" would be enough to give birth to a new chaos god.
Pretty much. I wonder why GW makes not a proper story like with Mymeara just about some Orks killing some random Chapter or so. Just like also to give Tau some fights besides Ultramarines.
Random Chapters do get butchered from time to time. It usually feels rather meh. I feel it would be kind of meh to Ork fans if that was all they got. Now, if some high profile Chapter like the Ultramarines suddenly lost their homeworld... that'd be something of a story.
