May I ask what are you actually comparing? I'm asking this, since the Tau are nowhere near being in the EC.

No there not, and may never be :(, but A Flatulent Stoat said that a Winged Antarch with a fire pike would be OP, and by my understanding of ranking and upgrades a Winged Antarch is first a Swooping Hawk, and that if a Antarch was OP that a XV8 with 2 fusion blasters would be just as OP by reason of firepower and deep strike and thus to hope in making a joke, I was just trying to make alittle fun to say that cause I don't want to be accused of being OP :p. IF this thread is too uptight for some playfull comparison then ill add my Tau cents else were:cool:

I was considering on Joining EC before tau launch, high maneuverable units like the winged everything in Eldar books intrege me.

Come on now... It's not about being uptight :) I'm just trying to avoid chaos. Like I said, anyone new to the forums will have hard time finding anything. Isn't it better to keep things as organized as possible?

And speaking of Firepikes (and hopefully putting the thread back on track), anyone here wondering how Fire Dragons will be implemented? I know we still need to see siege mechanics, but I'm a bit afraid that the Fire Dragons will be a unit viable only in sieges. Especially, since bE said that melta weapons will have mechanics that will make them most effective against vehicles. Of course, the FDs are primarily demolishion experts, but I think they would be a great Shrine to deal with in-door fights with heavy infantry (i.e. mehreens).

The second thing I'm concerned about are Fusion weapons. I really do hope, that bE won't make them a clone of imperial melta weapons. Eldar weaponry is more advanced, and the TT represents that by giving them longer range. EC has other mechanics in place and I hope the devs will make use of them to distinguish the Eldar technology. Having said that, I WANT my Firepike to be OP. Expensive as hell, points-wise, but OP.

As for Autarchs, I recall the devs saying somewhere, that the Autarch from the RT store will come with a pre-determined set of equipment. Which, judging by the picture provided, will be a chainsword, a Fusion pistol and mandiblasters. So, no flying Firepikes, so far.

Fire Dragons will hopefully be good at frontal assaults and easily cleaning out built up areas, but crap when flanked. The kind of troops that the enemy will be scrabbling to get out the way of, but itching to shoot in the back. Of course with a load of scorpions lurking about and reapers laying down covering fire that won't be easy ;)
It would be good if all the aspects had certain perceived strategies for dealing with them. Making the opposition reactionary would be ideal for setting ambushes.

I can't provide a link, so you will have to take it as is, but It was stated that the Fusion guns of the Fire Dragons will not be as restricted as Mon Keigh melta guns. Melta guns will have aiming restrictions similar to the lascannon. Fusion guns will not. However, Fusion guns (to bring up TT, which you don't like us doing) are weaker than Melta guns and will be so in EC as well.

The Autarch in the store is but one iteration of an Autarch. Once they are in-game proper, then you will be able to start with a "base' Autarch and the exp them up. It is my fervent hope that Autarchs are as flexible in EC as they are in TT. In fact, I expect there to be more options for all classes than are presented in TT. This as also been stated, at least as far as basic classes go.

So, yes. I want my Flying OP Autarch of Fire Pike DeathTM :p
