They need to be careful that the grenade drop doesn't become a pseudo artillery tactic. Despite the many advocates for "steel rain" on the forums, being killed by ubiquitous explosions is never fun. Oh and making suggestions or asking what the current thinking is on any of the xenos usually results in the stock answer "we're not working on that now", I'm quite tired of that now. Even with access to Exarch weapons their role is dubious. The classic high mobility troops Assault mehrines/Raptors/Stormboyz will be targeting the long range specialists and disrupting the movement of the tactical. As melee specialists they will be good at this. They will force the long rangers into their weakest form of combat (melee) and physically block the tactical's movement. What can the SW's do? Engage the long range specialists in a fire fight? That doesn't sound like a brilliant idea. If they ambush the tacticals the tacticals are going to take advantage of the high TTK and ignore them, if not outright at least until they can find cover. It will be the assaults job to chase the SW's off. I understand why they have focused on the beginners faction but having no answers for any xeno questions is not really filling me with confidence. I know they are not in production to make a game specifically for me, but equally I didn't become a founder to endorse their production of spez mehrine 2/halo 30/battlefield:40k. At this stage I feel there should be more than an outline of how the xenos are going to work. There are some big questions that haven't been adequately addressed. How are the hordes of greenskins going to be balanced? How are the Eldar tanks and their awesome firepower going to be balanced? How are specific race advantages like the Orks hordes and Eldars focused attacks going to work when there are now instances with population caps and fixed objectives? It is sad I'm thinking of getting a refund but as a xenos player I'm not seeing the value in being a founder atm. Having a great deal on RTP is worthless if there is nothing I want to buy with that RTP.
It seems like there is a system like that in place if the recent gameplay in the devstream is anything to go by.
I'd agree with this. Swooping Hawks are supposed to be a "harassing" unit. I'd hope that their Lasblaster does extra suppression or something. Plus I want too see the Hawks carrying a lot more grenades, with the ability to drop them in flight. ie jump over enemy and drop grenades on their heads!
Swooping hawks purpose has always been to hit and run, Give them something with which to hit hard. make their grenades effective.
Yes. Well, grenades are effective currently (from what we have seen in game play). So, I would think that giving them extra grenades and a drop down delivery system (as well as being able to throw them) would be enough.
I agree completely agree we want Xeno answers. But I'm content with the two we get info on atm. Tho when FA starts I hope they change there mindset right away and start telling us all the plans that is happening with the orks and eldar
what? grenades are effective ingame right now? i didnt see any grenade doing serious dmg just roll and you are safe i hope swooping hawks will have some kind of "bombing mode" where when the grenade hit something it explodes so you will have to see the hawks coming or you get mashed pretty fast that suits eldar i think
Didn't Brent say the 2 xenos streams would be broadcast soon enough anyway? We could have A sorcerer update one week maybe intermingled with some apothecary buffs, Tanks after, plasma weapons. So 4 weeks of space marines/chaos maybe 5 I speculate. I seem to also remember Brent sayin 2 or more streams a week at one point can't point out when he said it. Not heard anything about a melta episode yet. So in about 4-5 weeks I reckon or hope to see some xenos streams! At worst xenos streams will begin the week of or week after founders access is playable I hope. During founders i'd like 2-3 streams a week one focusing on balances made and space marines/chaos/trait and unlock trees for sm/csm respectively. Eldar and Orks we know will be seperate as we know... so either one focusing on each respective race over 2 streams a week with balancing/trait and unlock trees included or changing race every other week Heres to hoping!
