Chivalry: Medieval Warfare fighting system in EC?

    As the title says, I was thinking of suggesting a Chivalry: Medieval Warfare-type Meleeing system in EC (With obvious tweaks to make it suitable for 40k aka making it a bit faster and more polished and deadly.)!

    Now EC would also need a mechanic where moving your mouse moves your torso and clicking WASD moves your body (Which is already implemented as you can see, when you look around with a gun but it has no effects when you melee...).

    Maybe a bit more simplified than Chivalry but theese are the mechanics I wanted to suggest.

    So first off, the types of SLASHEZ you can do:

    1. RMB - Depending on where your mouse is moving, you slash in that direction. Moving your mouse left would make it slash from left to right and vice versa.
    2. Scrollwheel - UP - Scrolling your wheel upwards would make you do a forward thrust with your weapon. Cutting while moving your mouse left will cut from lower left corner towards top right, vice versa for the other side. Things like Chainswords and Swords in general would benefit from this a lot.
    3. Scrollwheel - DOWN - This will make you do an "upwards towards downwards" slash. Basically you cut from up to down and if you are moving your mouse left, you cut from top left corner down to the lower right corner, vice versa for the other side. Things like hammers and axes will benefit from this.

    All defensive moves you can do:

    1. Dbash - You click LMB and RMB at the same time... you know of this already...
    2. Q - Works only with shields (Yeah you filthy Shieldbros, I'm doing something good for you once!) You thrust forward with the shield and defend yourself from any attacks that aren't charged attacks which can be considered the "Scrollwheel" attacks.
    3. ShoulderBash. Only @ShoulderMount can use this, Kills everything in it's pass and insta-wins the game (Then bans everyone in the match)

    Weapon tiers still exist, tier 0 cant beat anything but tier 0, tier 1 beats tier 0, tier 2 beats tier 0 and 1, etc...

    Now... let's go to locational damage. Things like chain weapons hitting Flesh in general (without armor) will cause bleed damage to everything that isn't a CSM or SM. To CSM or SM, Chain weapons will instantly break their Armor (Yellow bar, and also anything else with armor like eldar.) and make it not recharge for a while. It does medium damage against them.

    Hitting things with power weapons will disrupt their vision and movement speed (I guess CSM and SM can be included!) and it also makes things walk slower when you hit them in the legs with power weapons, when you hit the arms it makes them swing slower and head takes away half their health (1/3 to a CSM/SM/Ork) WITH a small chance for instakill-decapitation.

    Heavy as hell things like power hammers and fists would kill things extremely easily just like they do now. And locational damage with them does even more harm (More visual distruption, move walking speed reduction, etc) which is all for a very short amount of time to prevent spamming.

    I'd love to have thrust/horizontal slash/Vertical slash move set in EC.
    Current system is like strange version of Dark souls, but the good stuff like 2handed stances aren't present in EC. So there's a ton of flailing around in hope of hitting the target if the animations let you, instead of moves that grant you more control for your swings. Also if we had thrust attacks, the weapon reach would actually matter to a great degree.

    2-3 months away from release, you guys need to stop dreaming. The (unfortunately) very mediocre system we have at the moment seems to be more or less what we are going to have an release...

    Yeah. And after release there's gonna be more content than before and on release. (For example the rest of the 40k factions and HOPEFULLY open world!) So stop the negativity cause you don't know what's going on. The current system is FAR from finished and that's what they said. Release isn't the end of the game. It's the begining.

    It is not about negativity, it is about leaving fairyland. Have you ever seen a game that completely revamped its mechanics after release ? Nope. Won't happen.

    Fairyland? Okay... You haven't seen a game get revamped in it's mechanics after release but they literally confirmed it will and Release is just another stage that they got. It barely changes development, it just tells you "We optimized the game and fixed bugs."

    Not my fault you didn't see many games do it but I did and A lot of games have revamped their mechanics many times for example Warframe, War thunder, Chivalry itself in fact and others... The mechanics will change, whether you like it or not, as you seem to be someone who wants the game to die off easily which I'm sorry to dissapoint but it won't. It will happen, I know it for a fact, you need to get updated more. Theese devs aren't Bioware or Those Payday2 guys whatever their face is.

    I would love to have Chivalry/Mount and blade style melee instead of what we have, anything that gives you actual control of your characters movements during the combat action (possibly even having to aim for specific regions of body rather than always counting as torso hit). Not to mention consistent movements so you can shoot someone without trying to guess if they are going to fly 10 meters because they swung a weapon, or hitting a friendly cause the guy you aimed at moved faster in half a second then if he was sprinting.

    That said with how often this has been suggested and the usual response from on high I doubt it will ever happen.

    Does veterancy for Company of Heroes 2 counts?
    Nightvision, stealth and countering it for PS2?

    Just two examples out of my head.

    Now, that being said, I wouldn't count on changing the current system, it makes no sense and some people seem to be forgetting that the game is going to be released on consoles as well, so you have controls issues, the chivalry system is also way too slow and not dynamic enough for setting with full auto weaponry-it simply have no place in game like EC and that is why system like these were never used in any game outside of medieval setting-they have simply no right to exist in worlds with rapidly firing ranged weapons.

    Hoping for current system to be completely changed, when we have all the mocaps and more or less polished animations in place this close to release is naive to say the least.

    What you can count on however is getting rid of bugs so we have proper, working RPS system.

    Not saying that we need all such drastic changes, I'd simply want a frontal attack that does not require standing still & charging my chi.
