They can roll, though, using i-frame to nullify most of the damage you can inflict during the roll, and then raising their shield again when it's done.

  3. I really like the idea of giving Shield Bros the Devastator hop in place of roll. Captain America is awesome, but he doesn't belong in 40k. Seems like a fair trade off for massive damage negation.

I'd be ok with testing it on the founders server to see how it plays out.

Although it will be much lolz kiting them where they have no hope of ever catching up lol.

And this is why it won't happen. They already have reduced mobility while using the shield, but reducing a melee class' baseline mobility renders it nonviable, for exactly the reason you have stated. I do think that when not actively blocking, the shield should just be treated as a high-toughness hitbox- reducing, but not negating the damage, since EC's version of the storm shield functions around the idea of an active power field (as it should- that 3+ invuln is an abstraction of using the bloody thing correctly)

it'd be nice to be able to run like brent wants us to, but coupled with sailing melee strikes and a 1:1 run speed as a tactical, we'd have to run on first sight (outdoors only too). it's a defensive class that's keeping in line with offensive classes.

I try to run with my havoc, I really do, but it takes so long for me to turn. Now I just give him the back of my head.

heavies are generally minced as soon as any meleeist zeroes in on you.

unless that lascannon bunting is still a thing.

Thankfully its not with the reduction of stuns although this makes poor devetators free kills to melee pretty much

The shield should deplete if it gets hit and absorbs damage while you run. The cooldown on regen is too short as well.

But I also have to agree with a running speed reduction. At the moment chaos just has far inferior assault capabilities. I was under the impression that chaos was meant to be better at the fast (but less sustainable) push or 'overwhelm', and loyalists better at defense and slow push or 'rising tide'. Right now loyalists have the advantage with both through SS/apoth, and chaos feels well...in the middle of nowhere.
