I've been seeing alot of misinformation on the threads and seemingly near mythic allegations on the amount of gunfire a Storm Shield can take so I wanted to give it a shot myself and see how much it can take! Really easy to test out: Step 1: Select Storm Shield Ground Assault Step 2: Spawn Step 3: Run to enemies Step 4: Raise shield Step 5: Enjoy the few seconds of uninterrupted blocking bliss Step 6: Die Step 7: Repeat as needed to learn the shield isn't as durable as the forums make it seem! Check it out, or better yet jump off of Chaos make an LSM character and test it yourself you will be surprised what you'll learn by walking a mile in someone elses shoes. <3 @TheWalkingDerp this ones for you bud! Let me know what parts seem OP, UP or OK ...I want to see who views what as imbalanced. Shield got wreckt by Lascannon, Multi-melta Plasma Guns are pretty solid against them Sorcerers poison seems to bypass it Bolters and Heavy Bolters seem crappy, although close range Heavy bolter eats the shield...when its not busy missing at other ranges. Missing shots on the shield lets Shield recharge and survive for what seems forever if you really suck at aiming Bursting on the shield in small burst groups lets it recharge and is not recommended from what I've seen Melee can eat through it in a few hits but you open the risk of counter attack (And as I've been informed also takes weapon durability loss when hitting the shield faster than when the shield drops?) People are really scared of shields and run like mad even when I do nothing but follow with my shield up haha. Kick takes like 1/5 the shields amount CSM/LSM Heavy Bolters are crazy innacurate...like they are Orks or something.

You call the @TheWalkingDerp and got me here The video you post isn't really showing anything besides if you stand there only blocking like a lemming then you're going to drop fairly fast. Also when you were blocking the multi melta you actually didn't start blocking fast enough and got grazed by it which is what killed you the shield actually took nearly no damage.
You could have asked about that though.We allready knew that LC one shots even SBros for a long time.
Oh I died about 17 times that match, these were just the deaths I got to raise my shield up in for most of it.
True but the point of this was to confirm and not take the word of people who may or may not have duplicitous claims on the durability of the shield.
The video's point was to stand there and see how many shots the shield can take so standing there with the shield up blocking like a lemming is the point...so if the shield can drop so fast how are these guys so scary? I did get clipped for like 1 second or so by the Multi-Melta. He got to just under two stacks of heat before my Shield went up and I had 10% armor left and full health...does that little amount of Multi-Melta really drop someone with some armor and full health in under 2 seconds? Seems suspect to me.
If you really wanted to confirm facts about SB or any other class you wouldn't have made a video where you spent most of your time as a sitting duck.
