There's this whole silly thing about some "founders access" that everyone seems to be worried about around the office that's totally cutting in to our tentacle creation budget. Someone said something about "fixing bugs" too. I don't know why they aren't all working on adding tentacles.

The only bugs I want to see are 80 feet tall and want to bite my head off.

exactly, well if @Oveur had the clearsight you (Noah) so clearly display, then I guess we would have tons of tentacles in the store, 109^78 character slots, and 1 global server, an adeptus mechanicus factions at launch, and a specially made oculus rift Adeptus edition...

Sadly he (Nathan) does not, and is just a sad little tenctacleless man who has spent too much time in Kolding...

But in the darkest of darks a glimmer of light brings hope - ( looking at you Total War Warhammer)
  5. The whole thing with character slots/subfaction/founders thing.

All that garbage is garbage, there shouldn't be a character slot limit/purchase or restriction.
Its just adding annoyances to a game that really doesn't need them.
Especially with all the elements that are not going to be in game for quite a while (unique factions/completely open world etc.)
I'd like to have a space wolf and a Dark Angel thanks.

I agree. Yet I think someone suggested to me if I wanted to experience a different Craftworld, I'd need to make my same character that I've stuck with 4x over just to do so. Where is the fun in that? It's just a unneeded restriction in order to make bucks.

It also means you won't be able to play any other new races, because of the slot limit. You wanted to experience all the different marine chapters? But hit the limit? Too bad, better delete some or pay £20 for a character transfer to the same faction --_--

Someone said this was a service. I say it's exploitation EA style with a hint of stupidity, because this plan won't be able to accommodate the future races/extended factions.

Charging $20 for the new Tau (race)/(extended sub-faction) Sisters of Battle and Imperial Guardsmen, good. Don't charge for 16 slots, then say sorry we can't increase the limit due to engine/technology restraints. It's limiting and closes off any chance to look at anything else.

Is there a technical argument for restricting slots, after all you may have many slots, but you will only have 1 client playing at any given time, isn't that the main issue... is it then because it takes up to much space (backup etc.) to store 16 per account ?

We of course all have different ways of playing games, for me it will never be an issue that I can only have 16 slots.
I'm satisfied with the 4 start slots, if I ever play a character to the end, and then after a while want to make a new, then I will happily buy a new slot. If the incredible happens and I have 16 full slots, then I will probably make a new account.
But I still don't get it, if you pay for more slots, why wouldn't the salesman, want you to have 50 character slots, and pay for them ?

I asked that to my digital barber as well. Serious note: Make a different account? You really you want to encourage that? I'm surprised Sony hasn't done that yet with Planet Side 2. Anyways it's a bad idea.

Please don't give Game Workshop any ideas!
  9. What game - main stream- has unlimited slots? Even destiny only has 3. FF14 has limited slots too. Things will always be limited .

If they let you change only amongst the sub factions, we wouldn't have a problem. Also all those games are cash cows. Especially Destiny. And Destiny only has few classes, so there's not really point in having that many (same generic non-existent story). EC has lot's of possibilities within the same faction, plus future ones.

SWTOR already has difficulties in having 20 slots, for some reason. And the only way to go beyond is making a new character on a different server. Wasn't EC suppose to be single server?

Still bad decision if you ask me, but awesome way to make more £$£$£. That's what's more important in the end? Right?

    No...

They still have plenty of ways to make money without going that route.
