  1. or the armor takes visual damage after you got in down state?
would be the easiest way to realice it i think :D

That's would be awesome if you had to repair your armor after x amount of time using RP.

DEfinitely Char.custom must be in, it's very backbone of this game, every marine army is unique of the man who build mod and paint. and so must be it in the game

About the damaged aspect of the armor, we will see if the Gameplay ends up needing the Armor Damage visual first - We will need a specific visual to tell players that, let say, your armor is heavily damaged and you are vulnerable to the next hit (armor in our game might auto-repair itself overtime, this is one of our options). In that case, customizing your Armor as a damaged one might give the impression that you are vulnerable while you are not.

Personally, I would find it cool to have that old battle-worn armour that can I show proudly to other players - if we could have different types of damaged effects, then we could have a Temp one when your Armour is down and a different looking Permanent one that you can show off (the two could add up on top of each others when needed). Since we would like people to have a choice, I could clearly see the Damaged Version of your armour being awarded to you when certain Stats reach a specific point (i.e. an achievement). This would be an extra customization option. What do you think about this?

Sounds awesome, I'd love to be able to show off my scars after a couple of months/years of gameplay.

  8. Customization is a must, but I'd like a lot of it to be unlocked over time, rather than available right away. I'd also be fine with paid-customization.

Eventually, we all want our Space Marines to look like over-decorated x-mas trees... but that should be something to aspire to.

I wouldn't mind the armor repairing from a gameplay perspective.
I think the best option would be to have it repair in a diminishing returns kind of a way. It will repair up to a certain point, and once it reaches that threshold, it lowers.

IE a 100 value system. Get shot up several times, below half health or so. Your armor is at 70% integrity. It'll repair up to 90.
Another firefight - down to 40% integrity. Armor regenerates up to 60%
Yet another firefight - down to 5% integrity. Armor regenerates to 25% and stops regenerating now.

You want to full re-arm and repair? You have to tactically retreat now. Have different cache systems (Ie a visual ammo crate, visual repair servitor etc) that once you walk up to, you're back up at 100% on ammo capacity and armor systems. The regeneration effect is now also, back to its top threshold.

So there's my suggestion. Now for a personal question... have you considered battle damaged 'UI' Nicolas? A ceramite helm can only take so much before a lens gives out and doesn't display properly!

Yes - we thought about it. We are not sure how far we will go because when in a critical state you still want to be able to perform some actions accurately. Enough at least for the sense of emergency, to put you in a panic state. In the end, we will have to prototype different effects, select the ones we feel are right for each factions and then tone them properly.
