I do hope you meant to write "warp-tainted space-cocaine served gothic-style in a goblet of red wine".
their weakness iss that the ywant to kill everything that moves , be it friend or foe. also they hate eachother like ... a lot. also i remember reading somewhere that they would kill for some spoils of war.
It's not true to say that the Black Legion lacks unity of purpose. If anything, their purpose is more single-minded and clearer than any other chaos legion, including the Word Bearers. Their dissolution into myriad warbands with different cultures, tactics and rivalries who keep or reject their traditions as they see fit isn't seen as a weakness by Abaddon - merely something which reflects that they are no longer the legions of the old Imperium. He's always been happy to leave them that way, knowing that any attempt to reimpose the rigid discipline of the old legions would be to weaken the Black Legion's flexibility and morale as a fighting force. It may be reasonable to accuse the Black Legion of inefficiency, but Iskandar Khayon indicates that they view ruthless efficiency in warfare as one of their defining traits. In any case, their disparate nature hasn't prevented them forming a unified crusading host thirteen separate times, each of which has caused the Imperial defenders to soil their drawers and scream for help in the general direction of Terra. They aren't without faults, of course. The ideal of brotherhood without reference to bloodlines, to laying aside old rivalries in favour of common goals, to pursuing military action only at the expense of the Imperium, and merging the followers of a single Chaos God into warbands that worship another, all or none of the gods, are all laughably fraught with difficulties in practice. They have yet to achieve this revelatory status envisioned by Abaddon (it may not be possible), and so their crusades are never as devastating as Abaddon envisages they could be, and simply have eight times more reasons than the other legions for things to go south very quickly. Also, some of Lord Zial's descriptions of the general flaws of chaos apply doubly to the Black Legion. Their view of the Long War leads them to be less concerned about retreating in the face of seemingly impossible odds to fight another day. They hold no homeworld in the Eye, both to boost their flexibility and as a reminder that the Eye is a place of temporary exile, not a true home...but which makes them even more reliant on scavenging, daemonic possession, risky piracy and draining goodwill of other Eye denizens to keep them supplied than pretty much any other legion.
