Fusion/melta gun nerf was damage faloff nerf. So basically to get previous damage you need to hit somebody from point blank range. A. k. a. the range where you get killed by melee. The game direly needs a hotfix, Eldar are pathetically weak due to not having any response to melee while CSM wreak havoc due to having more wargear options (and powerful ones too). MoN itself is a great thing. Before the Eldar came, Sorcerers weren't very tough. Now I can give them MoN and voila, try to kill me before I heal my whole squad or poison you to death. The current MoN state is not a bad thing, it's just the rest of the game is not ready for it yet Edit: Which combines with the autocannon being very good. Chaos domination ensues.
It already had tiny range(felt like 10m). They have nerfed damage(effective range), its not possible to kill anything before it overheats, which translates to -1 effective classes. Its not even effective vs vehicles anymore, leaving eldar with no effective AT at all. Fusion gun is pretty much melee weapon right now.
It got nerfed...but yeah instead of asking for your classes and wargear keep whinning about MoN and AC.
Im just sick of chainswords flailing around with fast attacks until I die. I dbash their attack go to swing back, and they have already boosted around to hit me from behind. Shoot them you say! Oh, my bolter doesn't do any damage (sure, wargear isnt in yet, I realize that will help, just venting for now). Power fists are really only good for hitting people from behind at this point, and even that is a questionable use when you could be on to the next idiot on the firing line with a chainsword anyway. I would much rather have the extra jet fuel as a Fast Attack, thats my two cents there. (health back and grenado are to good to pass up. I hope we get a piece of gear to use enemy resupply poits though, that would be awesome.)
MoN raptor doesn't need grenade or heal item. He just jumps in, destroys 2-3 ranged guys by javkhammering the right button, laughs at the turtle SB as he jumps away so he gets sniper healed by MoN sorcerer to do his job again but this time he will return with MoN Traitor Assault,MoN havoc, MoN assault and 2 other MoN snipe- umm sorcerers to clean the room and perma cap the point. But hey, we can at least dream about those Iron Halos that i keep hearing about them since February.
If you aim the Bash with your mouse OR press 2 and switch to your secondaries and utilize the Lock On you can counter them effectively. It's pretty easy to tie them up like that, followed up by either a FA (rinse, repeat) or firing off a few headshots then either Fast Attacking or going back to a Bash. Ps If you aren't getting a FA window anf they're eating the Bash kick then something is wrong. It's only impossible to counter them on a Heavy atm.
Fact: MoNs have higher EHP so they are initially more durable and benefit from active healing more. They don't have magical melee abilities. They're paying a ton of points for that passive durability (bring Plasma and make them regret it) where I'll just dump a Krak nade on you, kill one of your buddies and jump out the window to heal myself. The warp crystal potentially doubles HP so it's a fair tradeoff considering how short the Sorc heal is in any practical sense and how anchored it makes you. It does give them an option SM don't have, fair point of QQ but temporary and not game breaking. The SoC is the most annoying thing CSM have atm when I play SM. MoN barely registers in a tactical sense. Master the Plasma Gun and make them regret spending 700LP.
As a dedicated bolter player, I can say that it is a huge difference in those 30 hp and 50 toughness. While I easily can down simple raptor or traitor, MoN on them gives me big headache - I need time to kill them, bash, roll, knife attacks, pistol - all things in arsenal and again TIME. In battles you usually have no time - enemy will get support and I will be dead. And in squad against squad MoN is +150 HP for chaos - its like + 1 player. Not even talking about +250 toughness. And yes, lots and lots use MoN, raptors, traitors, havocs, sorcs. Standart TA is just gone.. You have to unleash such buffs for mirror classes together, not buff the whole faction and for 1 month check how does it work in metrics.
