I think that's a translation issue more than anything. Paths or 'outfitting options' is probably more accurate.
Showing a Pre-Alpha footage of the gameplay could be a very dangerous and Psyctooth already told us why (Page 8). It's a double edge sword, but this sword could really hurt one way more than the other. "(you know designers are protective with their work until it is “Done”)" Maybe they have a point. Please consider this carefully and what impact could have on the community.
Most communities start off with a few dozen brainboyz but as population increases it turns into a huge leaderless warband of feral orks. They'll rip everything apart for every reason known to ork-kind.
I really don't like my words being misinterpreted. What I mean and what I meant is that people need to understand that a work in progress is a work in progress and not an example of the final product, it shouldn't be judged as such, instead see it from the standpoint of what they have done so far, personally like I said I am looking forward to it because I'm really excited about this game. I can understand people's fear that a negative view from non-Warhammer 40 000 gamer community may discourage people from showing interest in the game, but I doubt this would happen. I still understand your point, I won't say anything against it. I think bringing up any kind of negativity only encourages it. Being open about the development process is something I fully endorse, but it's hard to translate or convey to people who haven't been fully involved in game development in some way and mistakes can be made, we are all human, people need to bear with the developers. Though if they don't mind I could make some suggestions in which they could approach communicating more clearly. Write up a complete and clear dot point list of what they plan on having so far in the game, what they will have and things they would like to have but have no definite on yet. Clarify all released art content to the public and what it represents so people don't misunderstand and state clearly what they represent. So far they have done this in this thread and other threads but a comprehensive list would be good I think. I don't want to insult the intelligence of anyone, but it seems a lot of people just go asking questions when there are answers already. Issues is a lot of the answers are all over the place. A complete list somewhere pinned would be very nice.
Looks like an black legion champion (due to power claw), iron warriors havoc with missile launcher, word bearer terminator /term champion with reaper auto-cannon, and a night lords raptor with jump pack.
This is a great idea. There's a ton of redundant questions, a lot of which the devs have answered but there have been so many Q&A's and different forums they've spoken on that it's difficult to trace where it was said. It's not as bad now that we have official forums, but even so information is a little scattered.
Was a bit nervous after that newsletter that it would be one big Halo flashback. Phew. Thanks for the clear-up.
You got it wrong, they may do that for e-sports in the future, right now that map is instanced just for test purposes. Original post saying that: And talking about e-sports, personally i'm not against it, in fact i'm a huge SC2 nerd, i watch every single tournament and i don't even play the game, but please don't try to force e-sports, if there is enough people following streams and community tournaments/competitions sure, support it, but i know of quite a few games trying to force e-sports and it looks like it cannot work that way.
I like the idea of keeping the Chaos Gods till after launch, like the constant fighting on these planets has caught the Gods attention and begin to send their 'influences' to aid Chaos or for their own need.
