Because it is all about the atmosphere not graphics, nowadays kids don't get it unfortunately. Chaos Gate has ancient graphics (not that I'm saying it's bad or something) but the game is as playable as it was in the 90ies or even more cos we're flooded with crap now and such a remedy to this situation is always most welcome. I've just played it lately and I felt like a 5 year old child during Christmas Eve again .
my god i remember playing Chaos gate when i was 5 and i loved it the tactics of having to think strategy's out and keeping your marines alive was just awesome my favorite like i said was Space hulk Vengeance of the Blood angels
Nope. They would just find a game studio who have no reputation or a very bad one to make it. In todays gaming world there would be little charm or nostalgia for the game, it would just be a half-arsed project or reskin of Xcom with a store for micro-transactions poorly implemented. The gameplay would be meh, the graphics would be meh and the only reason people would buy it and play it is because it has Warhammer 40,000 stamped onto it in green letters. The original was great just like Final Liberation in its own cheesy way. If only it worked.
I know exactly what you mean, I recently played through the Icewind Dales (For like the hundredth time) for the same reasons, CG a few months back.
The cut scenes in that game were cheesy but that's what drawn you in graphics of the game were decent for the time and also the costumes that where used in the cut scenes were top notch
