    Quick suggestion:

Let's assume that IG does somehow make it into the game as a playable faction. Outside of awesome vehicles they're known for being the best at dying. Now, we have no idea how the game is going to be played, but if it's engagement based, then a simple workaround is to give them 3-5x the spawn tickets (or whatever system they implement). In other words, since they're going to be dying ALL THE TIME, then make their bases harder to capture, give them good vehicles, and make the team punishment for individual death negligible.

From a game balance perspective it could work. They could hold the line well on defense, but struggle mightily on offense. That seems fluffy enough for me.

Edit: Now i know some fluff warriors are going to come out and take offense to that, but let's be honest, a regular human should not be a match for any individual xeno.

  2. Actually I would support that kind of suggestion as long as they don't become super soldiers, Guard need to be squishy to me.

Well, if they add NPC troops this could solve both issues. Cultists get grouped as NPCs with chaos, and guardsmen get NPC grunts to augment their player troops.

From what I've heard in other discussions about this topic, guardsmen have veterans. Good ones. As well as ogryns, stormtroopers, etc. Let those higher level troops be PCs, and let the grunts (if they're there, which by lore they don't need to be) be NPCs.

Also, for those people who argue that we should let lore rule above all balance... have you played in an unbalanced game (unfair, not asymmetrically imbalanced, before someone posts extra credits on me) before? It is many things, but it is not engaging. And engaging comes first for any game worth playing.
