Likewise, Eldar fielding only Aspect Warriors to a war zone (well, plus Warlocks, but you know what I mean) is unlikely in the extreme. Aspect Warriors are pretty rare compared to Guardians.
  2. Yeah, maybe ´ardboyz are a good idea. They survived enought battles to afford better equipment.
But also you need to remember that not all the waaaagh! are equal. Some waaagh! like the one of ghazghkull have really strong boyz, and other waaaagh! Like the small tripulation of a freeboter ship maybe be weaker. Arkhona is a big, big battle. Imagine that 5 chapters of space marine are working TOGETHER. Legions of chaos are going for the same objetive and not battling themselves. Eldars are risking their precious lives going in a planet. Now, It doesnt sound so crazy a boy being equal to a space marine, isnt it?

    This.

    This here makes sense.

Yeah we pretty much are 'ardboyz to me. But that whole 13rth crusade thing where all marine legions and chaos are in which make for a pretty big scope just make no sense when there is actually nothing to fight for on the planet.

We aren't securing a manufactorum world, we aren't securing a titan legion production facility, or a major artifact, or looting a crazy alien research superweapon laboratory.

This isn't an agri-world to feed segmentum obscurus, and, ok, it was an imperial world (hive world was it?), well now everyone is dead. So there is nothing to fight for here...

I get it I get it, the short stories explain it...ok... people buying on steam won,t even have heard there were short stories.

Basically what I'm going at is it's very hard to have a sense of identity and meaningful fights when IN-GAME there is no such thing as "story" and "campaign" and "warlords" and "subfaction and faction leaders".

We are led by heroes we won't see at launch, for a cause we won't know at launch, which make it hard to even know who we are and why we are there in the first place. This conflict has no real story. Without a story, no idea what kind of orks we are. Where do we come from, how we became a WAAAGH!!!, etc.

I voted no because the git on the left is technically a nob too

at best I'd keep the chance to develop "big nobz" as another kind of even more elite class down the road, parallel to the mega nobz perhaps (which I assume will have some more restrictions in terms of tokens to spend than the current veterans we have now)
  6. Warborn Warborn Subordinate

The current "ork boyz" should be nobz, the elite/veteran classes should be some flavour of boss.

Space marines being deployed anywhere in the galaxy is pretty rare. That is, they're always fighting, but there are so many fights that they're only ever present in a relative few of them. There are billions of worlds in the Imperium and there are wars raging all across most of it, but there are only 1000 chapters of (at most) 1000 marines each, generally. To have significant numbers of marines from various chapters involved in a fight is exceptionally rare. Space marines usually only send a single squad at most to deal with a generic Waaagh! or other incursion, as space marines are elite enough to decapitate most threats with very few units.

Space marines and Chaos marines being present means the fight is pretty damn important, because the absolute elite of the Imperium/Chaos forces are present. So the Eldar sending nothing but Aspect Warriors, or orks sending nothing but nobz, is totally fitting.

All orks being nobz would be a good idea, in my opinion. It would explain them not getting destroyed by absolutely everything.
  8. Warborn Warborn Subordinate

Plus it'd be a damn shame if orks only basically got slightly bigger boyz in the form of nobz. We need warbosses (subordinate to the warlord leading the Waaagh!) to give it the same epic oompf. Veteran ork classes should tower over the other sides (with massively tanky health/armor pools to compensate for the larger size) and be able to ragdoll enemies with a single swipe from a massive power klaw or axe or whatever.

And of course, regular ork classes being nobz and being bigger than marines and 'arder just follows. In a world where orks are squaring off against marines, the orks should be the most visually intimidating on the field (albeit balanced). It's nonsense that orks are represented by chaff while Imperium/Chaos/Eldar are all the elite warriors of their respective sides.

I agree, yeah. Was just pointing out that there's definitely precedent for all the Orks turning up being more experienced than your regular Boy. They probably killed and ate all the weaker Orks on the way to Arkhona.
