Change friendly fire conditions

For me it has nothing to do with experience. I just want the "bad guy" dead (I'm over the top with heal grenades even though they net me zero xp). I don't know if no FF is the answer, but I might like the idea of lowering the damage vs friendlies.
  2. I've not unlocked heal grenades, quick question, does it heal everyone or just friendlies?

  3. just friendlies.

I cast Wordery organized in Wall form.

Having no friendly fire would result in weapon spam & explosions everywhere all the time, concentrated around objectives and frequented areas. It would actually decrease tactics and significantly reduce any melee fighters chance of playing.
Imagine a match where an an objective or route is being showered with every explosion, JPA slam, dakka, etc ever. There would be an increase in such weaponry too because less penalty & less skill/care required so be sure to factor that into the imagining. Then play a melee in that mess, trying to kill someone when all they & and their team have to do is throw any explosive they have at you and/or empty their mag without a care in your general direction. Or play a capper trying to stand on the objective for the needed time.
"Well, my team will do that too!" some might say. Objectives are different in some modes and well... More spam for the spam? Right. Spam would become the only tactic. Then think on how much performance would suffer with all that spam happening.

If you don't like controlling your fire, then don't fire near friendlies. Choose your targets. See a melee fight happening? Well, are there other enemies there too, like shooting into melee themselves? Help your team, shoot them. You may even make a melee friend if you keep them safe to do their thing, resulting in them keeping you safe to do your thing [JOLLY COOPERATION INTENSIFIES]. Simply adapt to the games you are choosing to play. If that still doesn't work, then there are other shooters with no FF you can look into. Some even have little to no effort needed for ya to control your fire, almost like firing lasers even with bullets at times.

Melee doesn't hurt teammates. If dog-piling is happening then there aren't enough enemies ("Enemies! We need enemies"), lack of coordination/awareness on their part, they're just doing it wrong by tunnel-visioning, or they're just having fun.

Player mentalities are entirely up to the players, the people. Nothing game mechanics can do about it other than band-aid jobs. Promote positive acts through fine-tuning yourself, behaving positively yourself, building tolerance to negative behavior, flock to other positive players and understanding how to ignore someone as well as using the reliable mute button.

Unfortunately, anyone could find anything to complain about/start barking at their team or enemies for. Doesn't matter to types that do that sort of thing, just matters that they do it. Granted some really are just trying to get others into gear but personality + frustration + tough love + whatever other influence makes wordery come out/be taken wrong. I've even known several people who thrive in that sorta environment, makes them focus more. Hell, in several different games I've had people start barking even when we're winning, even in PvE games. One time was they just didn't pay attention to the score while another time they thought a different approach would work better, just said it in an aggressive manner. Made me not want to listen but did anyway, 1 person who was barking at the healer leave, got a replacement then made the rough going work out in the end.

Of course only friendlies. Do you see any other healing effects applying to enemy factions? Such a thing would be very silly. Also LSM would lose their minds. "Ugh! That pointy eared punk just healed me with his elfy witchery! Need to take a holy shower & recite 10,000 prayers to the Emperor in order to purify myself after this battle. This patented Emperor Blessed sanitizing oil will have to do for now." OR *space elf heals a CSM... of the Slaaneshi variety* All other Eldar including the spirits: ".... Did you just- What the f****ing f****!" CSM: "Huh. That tasted just like your death will. Thanks!"
  5. Not just no, but I want MORE sin penalty. Specifically for suicides. I'm getting tired of players with AoE weapons intentionally TKing, but seeing players get paid for suiciding is just too much.

Anyone who dies once in a while from falling to your death, or even the occasional suicide to prevent an enemy kill won't get you enough sin to matter. People who suicide bomb for points need to be stopped. It's always the people who TK a lot with their weapons that pull this shit too.

I'm looking at all the plasma/tempest/kannon people here. Anyone who spends the whole match suiciding and TKing needs to be penalized for it.

How much worse must fortress matches be with these people wasting defender tickets?

I think friendly fire makes the game much better. It would be hell if enemy team could just have one or two melee people bog everyone down while their team launches ordnance at the melee players knowing it wont hurt their own guys. The only time I think friendly fire is dumb is if I plant a melta bomb or the like on an enemy transport, and a player on my team runs up right beside it AFTER i planted the bomb and gets killed.

And firing into melee should really be a hard decision, it shouldn't be the no brainer first thing you do. Putting allies at risk makes you as dangerous as the people you're fighting.

As always, the people witha victim mindset who don't use the weapon classes that generally cause TKs are the ones who are the most upset about TKs.

  8. Nope just tired of being robbed of my XP by a suiciding plasma cannon gunner after putting in the work to flank them. Yes take away friendly fire, by all means. No-one will abuse it at ALL. you bet your ass im tired of poor fire discipline from idiots that SPECIFICALLY aim at friendlies with a plasma cannon.

  9. Dude, get it in your head, it's fuckin obvious that we are going to be the most upset about TKs, what do you think is more upsetting, "losing" a 100 XP and keep playing or not getting any XP, dying by the hand of an "ally", having to wait for respawn and then walk all the way to the battle again?

Of course people that cause TKs are gonna be less annoyed by it, they're the perpetrators not the victims, stop trying to twist things around.

Remove friendly fire and you lower the skill cap on a simple shooter even more. There really is no need to remove it. Learn to hold back on your trigger.
