there are several times when being given a sin penalty is inappropriate 1. Killing a downed person who was being executed anyway, in the process of killing their executioner 2. Killing teammates who stand next to an enemy vehicle you blow up 3. Killing one lone melee idiot in the middle of a crowd of enemies with aoe These should be changed: 1. If an enemy starts an executioon on an ally, they should be considered lost, and anything resulting in their death shouldn't penalise you 2. Vehicle explosions should be deemed an accident and not regarded as TK 3. With explosions, if you kill the same or higher number of enemies as allies within the last 3 seconds, then you shouldn't be given a penalty. Sacrificing one person to kill three is an acceptable loss
I like your suggestions Nanako. Personally I would love to see friendly fire off in the game. It seems unnecessary in a game that has so much close combat happening. It's just not fun trying to control your fire when there are 40+ players on screen in dark spaces in some situations. Also when using melee, most players intention is to obviously go after the enemy, but all I've seen so far are multiple team mates swinging at each once they down an enemy leading to a friendly kill which leads to frustration. My personal opinion is to avoid team animosity in the game and focus more on team tactics and strategy rather than worrying about accidentally creating a new enemy within my own team. In a world where online toxicity is ruining many games, I vote for at least trying to promote positive play in some form.
There is already reduced FF in parts of the game, PVE features 50% or 75% reduced FF (can't remember which).
So you're THAT guy. Suffering an eternity of 10,000 plagues isn't a just enough penalty for those AOE @#$@#'s that willfully fire AOE into friendly players. It never starts as that one lone "melee idiot" intentionally wanting to be in the middle of the crowd of enemies, I assure you.
Friendly fire is a good thing. Remember the other team has to deal with it too. Just be more careful.
Ideally it would never happen. No one likes killing teammates. But at the same time, in many circumstances, it doesn't have a negative value either; vehicles, friendlies being executed, one guy being pounded in a yiff pile by furry priests with broken melee DoT weapons.
Agree with all except 3, 1 enemy kill does not justify the murder of an ally, if something like this ever gets implemented it should be on at least 3 enemies for ally.
