Centurions

  1. How so? Anything you just plastered onto a Centurion could theoretically be plastered onto a Terminator and you would have had a better unit that wouldn't be hindered without trying to make a ridiculous/cumbersome one. My opinion comes from years of tactical experience in the field as an Army Ranger. Your opinion more than likely comes from a that of being a lame armchair warrior without any true experience to ground any realistic opinion.

As Miguel said in one of the first interviews - vehicles definitely will be present.

Mk3 "Iron Armour" is my personal preference, sloped helmet, heavy plate and it inspires dread to who ever opposes its wearer.

  4. You can't be situational if you're useful in lots of situations. That's called flexible. ;)

Edit: Just to be clear, my gripe isn't about their flexibility (my observation is they're not that flexible), but that the assault versions are nasty as hell in enclosed spaces and ranged versions have a hideous firepower. Granted, you often need to pour a vast number of points into them, but they can lay down a very effective anti infantry cone of fire, forcing you to tie them up in melee or lose a large chunk of your army (or, of course, both). They're very potent in the right situations.

That's my main gripe with the centurions in TT. They're a really good unit. It's like facing squads of dreadnoughts, in terms of the firepower they spew out, just without the heavy armour. Theyre also capable of spewing out more firepower/damage than terminators, they just don't stand up to quite the same levels of punishment.

Being honest, I'd rather we hadn't seen yet another heavy+ armour with heavy firepower unit added to the SMs, as they're not exactly light on those as it is. And I'm not convinced there was a particularly unmet need in the SM Codex for a centurion-like unit, but there you go.
