Hey guys, got a quick question: How do Warlocks (my guy ) look upon the usage of spells outside actual combat? Do they never use it, or do they have some line which they don't cross? More specifically, I was interested in casting a telekinetic blow (aka Force Push ) at my opponent so I was interested in would that even be possible, is it normal, how would other react to it, etc
I rather let Jori answer that, but my personal opinion: Since it's a friendly duel and not to the death, unharmful powers would be okay. Like you said - 'Force Push'-esque. Powers are used depending on the situation, i.e. lookie lookie in the future. I think it would be looked upon strangely by fellow warriors, but corsairs should respect that. Because you use every tool in your belt. The line you could cross in this scenario, imo, would be to throw lightning, fireballs, choking, etc. around lol.
Hmm. There's a good question. There's literally nothing in the lore or the novels. The psychic powers Warlocks get are all fairly hefty battlefield things. But, logically, they also have to practice them at some point, don't they? So there will be occasions that they use them which are not on the field of battle. Ulthwe seems like a pretty serious place to me, and they are known for their overabundance of psykers. To the point of some saying that maybe there's something in the water, so to speak, that makes them not quite right (I'd imagine that such people shut up pretty quickly because Eldrad Ulthran, and also on a more serious note it also sounds a bit like more of GW's signature "oh, but see, everybody is evil and wrong who isn't an Astartes" crap, so it's not a huge factor.). So. Practicing their psychic powers is a logical necessity, and this is not a fight against some random Guardian, but a Felarch. A Felarch who has arguably just upped the ante by using his jetpack. I'd say that using psychic powers might be agreed in advance in polite Craftworld society, but this is not there. In this particular context I'd say that while some of the more conservative Craftworld Seers might not do it, using Warlock powers here won't get much disapproval from the crew, unless you zapped their Felarch's brain. Plus, some of the crew of the Arcadia are likely to find it funny. You'll need to work in some kind of battlefield casting and use of the runes. One rune should do it. That's something every Warlock must know, so it won't be difficult for you as this is not a fight to the death. TL;DR: Context is everything but here it's OK
I haven't I was rather under the impression that you were talking to @Casavay . Though I believe I recall Cassie also waiting like you. #TooShyToDance I'll see what I can do
I am so confused, I thought I was talking to the Bonesinger...wait. There were two names mentioned in your post
