Wasn't Taldeer's body swamped by Marines on Kronus?

  2. Grigdusher Grigdusher Arch-Cardinal

maybe because they fighted necron for 60 millions of years and know the conseguences?

Oh yes she was. She was eventually killed and her soulstone was taken by the Blood Ravens. In DoW II Retribution at the end of Eldar campaign the soulstone is retreived by her brother Ronahn, an exile from Ulthwe, and later brought back home. So there is a possibilty her soul may have survived.

Actually, if you watch the ending more closely - Ronahn may not have been a Ranger at all, or even Taldeers brother:

Not a lot of Rangers who can tear the fabric of reality and step into the Warp/Immaterium. Relic had been working on a Dark Eldar expansion to follow Retribution when THQ went under and they canceled their work.

I haven't played through Retribution in ages, but I remember the first time I saw that ending I immediately started up another Eldar campaign to see if Ronahn had ever hinted at what the hell he actually is - but the outcome was equally inconclusive (though I think he does make some questionable comments once you know how the story ends).

In the DOW 1 campaign you linked, I think they say Taldeer is the only farseer to know the location of a lost craftworld - that leaves a lot of possibility for what someone would potentially want her knowledge for.

Perhaps Cegorach posing as a Ranger to recover what has been lost? We know Cegorach works toward an unseen goal.

Perhaps a Daemonhost, working on Her behalf? The "Bring her home" part is particularly chilling, in that context. But then, why would Slaanesh go through such trouble for one soul - it must be worth more than just the deliciousness of Taldeer's grace and valor.

Or given that they were working on a Dark Eldar expansion, could it be related in some way to that? We will never knowwwwww QQ

Edit: Also I hate Relic for deciding to make more stupid Company of Heroes crap instead of DoW2: Dark Eldar, or DoW 3. Nobody likes WW2, I want GW40k: Galactic War 40,000! :D

That would be an incredible plot twist, as Ronahn is defeated (killed?) earlier in the Chaos Rising or original campaign (wiki tells me that, and I sort of remember this mission, though it may very well be an autosuggestion). If he were a Dark Eldar, or one of Cegorach's... Wow!

I waited soooo long with a hope for the Tau and the Dark Eldar to join DoW2 :| And then they went bankrupt.
Despite that, this brings back some good memories ^^

Do you realise that you are going against your own goals then? If you stop the Eldar fighting and dying, then you can't awaken Ynnead can you? So what you really want, is to bring on the Rhana Dandra and have us all die. Not a very good prospect in my book.

I will put my faith in Cegorach.
Mark my words. Cegorach will trick She Who Thirsts into attacking Nurgle, in an attempt to get Isha. Nurgle will best She Who Thirsts, but while this is happening Isha will be freed. She Who Thirsts will weaken Nurgle enough that Nurgle will not be able to re-capture Isha and She Who Thirsts will be so weakened, that Cegorach will be able to give her the coup de grâce. Forever removing the link between She Who Thirsts and Isha's beloved Eldar.

No Ronahn didn't die, because Chaos Rising and the original campaign both come before Retribution: which was the most recent DoW2 expansion. That video I linked is the last piece of plot in the DOW2 franchise for the Eldar storyline.

Not at all the purpose, you misunderstand. A lost Autarch soulstone will not reach the Infinity Circuit - each Eldar who dies and is not recovered is a terrible blow to our people:
    a) it may be shattered by some imbecile race, the soul being unprotected would be consumed by Slaanesh - making him stronger,
    b) it is not consolidated into the Infinity Circuit, making it take longer to accumulate the psychic power to birth Ynnead,
    c) it may mean that even when Ynnead is born, she will be too weak to slay Slaanesh.

Even amongst the Eldar, an Autarch is a being of incredible will and determination, often bearing with them centuries or even millennia of experience and maturity and learning. To lose such a paragon of our people, to let the Autarch's soul fall into the hands of the Inquisition, or worse... is unacceptable. Therefore if it must be, any cost which is not the Eldar's to pay is an acceptable price.

Our seers say that we will bring about the Rhana Dandra ourselves - perhaps intentionally - but not until we are ready: not until Ynnead is ready. This is - perhaps - Cegorach's design.

Further, I would suggest that Ynnead's ability to destroy Slaanesh is no feat of battle: it is not so simple as tricking Her into a duel with Nurgle. Ynnead's birth is a recreation of the birth of Slaanesh herself - this time controlled.

As Slaanesh manifested from our once-great empires hedonism - Ynnead is a manifestation of our new-found discipline: through mastery of the paths. The god we are designing is not one of hedonism and excess in all things, but of foresight (Morai-heg), skill (Khaela), and craft (Vaul) - Ynnead will be forged through the manifestation of our dreams (Lileath), and the vision of leadership (Asuryan).

As Slaanesh's power is tied to the souls of the Eldar, so too will Ynnead's power be tied to our Eldar souls. Where we have denied Slaanesh, we will give them willingly to Ynnead - this is why Ynnead can defeat Slaanesh - because the very act by which we empower Ynnead is simultaneously a means to weaken Slaanesh. In this way, Ynnead is not an Assassin to Slaanesh, Ynnead is Slaanesh herself reborn: purified of our ancient immaturity.

We do not seek to kill Slaanesh, we see to cure her: for she is us - the psychic legacy of our people. In a sense - Slaanesh is the true infinity circuit of the Eldar, she is how we achieve psychic immortality beyond death. She is how we become gods - not individually - but through our combined will - we mortals birthed a god before accidentally, now we seek to do it again.

When you said "My only priority is the preservation of my people" I thought you where talking about their lives. My mistake. :) Obviously any loss of an Eldar soul is a tragedy. Be it in a waystone or not.

Ynnead will not be strong enough to Beat She Who Thirsts. Ynnead is a side line used by Cegorach to bring on the fight between Nurgle and She Who Thirsts. How Ynnead is used is the question I guess. It could be possible that Cegorach brings on the fight between Nurgle and She Who Thirsts, before Ynnead is awakened. That would give Ynnead the opportunity to do Cegorach's work for him.

That's a big call to say that Ynnead is She Who Thirsts reborn. You can get yourself ex-commed from your Craftworld for that. ;)

You cannot cure She Who Thirsts, you cannot kill She Who Thirsts, only weaken her.

I will say, Ynnead is strong on a per soul basis as Asuryan is said to have passed on his essence to the Eldar that survived the fall, prior to She Who Thirsts getting her hands on him. In fact it is more likely that Asuryan dissipated through the Eldar and therefore was not touched by She Who Thirsts at all. Going further, as the Dark Eldar where in the Webway when all this happened, Asuryan's power would solely reside within the Craftworld Eldar and their Exodite cousins.

The idea is to remove the direct connection between She Who Thirsts and the Eldar. No more eating of souls at the drop of a hat (or Waystone as the case may be). Once we have that and Isha is free. We can get back to being the dominate race in our galaxy (and I do mean OUR galaxy). :D

What I meant is you meet an Eldar ranger who looks like Ronahn and defeat him in one of the campaigns, Chaos Rising I think. But what if Ronahn is not really Ronahn? (Jet fuel doesn't melt steel beams, I know, but would be fun anyways).

Btw, isn't Rhana Dandra an inevitable future? (Or is there anything as inevitable in this galaxy?)

Also, I somehow always thought Ynnead will be male.
