Can we please talk about the JPA?

  1. Its the same thing you have been saying Wiawyr that is your opinion but the PC is not useless. Its just no longer a easy win button room sweeper and I think its just fine. Of course I am also someone who uses the anti tank shot on the reaper launcher to kill players so I am used to a tiny blast radius.

    As is arguing whether someone's lack of statistical evidence to gauge nerfs/buffs when it was clearly pointed out several times that the only statistics used were the ones generated from player's opinion on a top 10 priority list.

    I did it to point out the importance of the statement. Asymmetric does not mean every class is balanced against every class. It means every faction is balanced against every faction. They're all different desserts, not simply different flavored ice cream.

    I havnt had much of a problem with PC for at least 2 months now as not too many people use it anymore. But it has been a pain I think the changes to it will help out quite a bit and honestly I feel that the PC lvl2 plasma ball should kill outright within 3-5m. But the longer charge time will help out overall.

    Now I'm not bitching about nerf or crying about it but heavy weapons are called heavy for a reason they are ment for damage and raw power over finesse. My ideal plasma cannon is remove lvl one plasma ball and have it start with lvl 2 but require 4 seconds or so to achieve it that way you can't instantly clear a room and it will be more support dps weapon then like its supose to be. Which will also help out the balance for it so we don't have people just running into cqc and unload instantly get 3 kills in melee and then running away.

    So back on topic. Is anything quite as adept at causing an enemy to suicide with on hit explosive weapons? Cause they do have a tendancy to do that a lot which is very frustrating to the grounded fighter seeing as the jump unit can just waltz away unscratched due to I frame length.

    Some people actually play around that. They throw kraks and powerslam into them, blowing up defenders on fort maps. I'd believe them if they i-framed through it sometimes too.

    I've managed that a few times on accident. Also managed to have that go the other way. See the yellow slm warning and drop a melta at my feet and roll. Surprising how often it works.

    I've also thrown frags and swung a sword fast enough to blow it up a few feet away from me to blow up every dev in the imeediate area. Only seem to be able to do that with power swords though. Ork weaps dont seem to have the reach or the animation cancle to swing fast enough to hit it.

    And that's what I've been saying with regards to asymmetric balance. Glad we're on the same page.

    In regards to the only statistics existing being the number of people complaining about it to get it on the top 10 list, that still doesn't account for the number of attributes changed or the amount they were changed by. Those things, and the further nerfing of the PC, still have not had any metrics or statistics given as to why such drastic nerfs were needed.

    A lascannon will win a 1v1 against it, locks on and fires faster than the PC can charge. A lascannon will outdamage it against vehicles as well. Against any other heavy weapons, it's an easy loss.

    I don't think the argument in the devs eyes was just "nerf the plasma cannon." They themseleves said the PC was overperforming and not quite serving its intended purpose, and showing the stats is just semantics if the community already agrees when a (very) small portion calls for them anyway. There are plenty of other cases where the devs didn't release the numbers eve when asked. It's not really up to us, numbers are specifically their concern, not necessarily ours. We just gauge the feel behind them, for example: the Shuriken Catapult feels pretty UP against super T targets, even if I get headshots. I don't care what EXACTLY the damage is, only that Bladestorm doesn't seems to apply to the weapon and therefore it struggles to be successful with it sometimes even if I'm getting headshots consistantly.

    The results are the same when the PF was rediculously overused, pre-change the PC/PF was used judiciously. Now it's used for a purpose and far less often rather than for everything it can rangefind.

    Which is what I think the devs intended on putting the PC as they continue to monitor its habits. It's now about where the devs want it, and they're watching to see how it performs and likely won't change it.
