hi, I was wondering if we will ever see a butten to change or swap views left to right? I am just asking because some areas it's a gift or course, like you can shoot me and I can't even see any part of them or Vice versa. Is this going to be a permanent view or will we be able to change, that's all I'm asking so thanks.
As we have found out, putting in anything that requires new animations is a no-go. That's why both Loyalists and Chaos don't have missile launchers because, "It would require new animations".
What animation changes? There are none. You can hide it because its such a quick switch that your eye won't even really catch it. Its such a minimal change for such a huge boon in overall good feels for the game. We all know the camera angle is garbage. I've been playing a lot of the Division lately and they do a really fast shoulder switch in that game. You don't even notice the change. Its almost instantaneous for the change in hands/gun position. It just swaps with almost no animation played what-so-ever. Its totally do-able but as we have criticized Behaviour for in the past: they are simply lazy.
Ever notice how in the Division when you shoulder switch your other hand is suddenly on the trigger? When you have different weapons in each hand then this is very noticeable. They need to create mirrored animations for everything.
Mo-cap. The joke is that they use mo-cap for everything, instead of the cheaper and faster hand-made keyframe animation. Striking Scorpions can't get claws because mo-cap, Eldar pop out of cover and Orks can't reload while braced because mo-cap, aerial transports don't fly overhead as decoration because mo-cap, etc. No they don't. You just put the camera on the other side and trust your player to be intelligent enough to understand that their gun didn't magically vanish, it's just on the other side of the character. Hell, move the crosshair 1/3 from the top of the screen and use a centered camera, like Star Wars: Battlefront did with their third person, or just do that with the crosshair center-screen if it's too complex for the programmer(s) to move the crosshair off-center. No need to swap sides then.
They don't have missile launchers, because there are no air units in game and every other role would overlap with already existing heavy weapon, which means adding them is a wasted effort.
Just because there would be overlap that is no reason to not have a weapon in the game. Last I checked the missile launcher was not specifically designed to fight aircraft. They use frag/krak missiles, it would effectively be like the Kannon for the orkz, so it wouldn't be overlap. I'm actually curious what their plans are for weapons in general. If they don't want overlap, that's sad, because there are a ton of weapons they are missing. Hell there are a huge amount of Bolter variants that have their own qualities. Are they planning to really fill out our weapon choices or are we going to be stuck with extremely standard equipment? Also, do they plan to add more chapters, I'm surprised Black Templars were added in place of Imperial Fists, Black Templars are one of the most loved Space Marine chapters. Also where are the alternate bolter ammunitions? We have Stalker rounds but where are the Kraken pattern penetrator rounds, inferno bolts, and notably Vengeance rounds? Bolter is strong in the right hands but its real strength is in it's flexible ammunition. So many questions, it's too bad the Devs hate fully answering questions.
