Can Rtp Be Earned By F2p Players?

There were one or two streams during which it was mentioned that small amounts of RTP could potentially be earned ingame by participating in certain events or via achievements. I can't remember who said so, It might have been Miguel.

Edit: the way this was said implied that it would work for free players and for those who had "bought" the game.

@HORROR7 I see you have made this thread!

I recall faintly having a chat with @Demetri_Dominov some time ago and we talked about earning RTP in game but I cant recall if it was US wanting to be able to earn RTP in-game and suggesting ways to earn them in-game or was it already loosely confirmed that there are way to earn RTP in-game only that it's at a slower rate.

First, let's answer the OP's question, which is yes. As of Twitch # 10, Brent and Miguel confirm that players will be able to earn in game RTP's by helping their faction and bettering the community. Exactly how that works isn't clear.

Where @Nomad, @StaIker, and I filled in the gaps is this:

In a Stronghold Mission (the big match that defines territory control) players can nominate a grudge on enemy's that kill them towards a "hit list". Each time a player is slain, they can add another point of "grudge" towards their assailant. After a certain amount of time, the top two players of each faction respectively with the highest accumulation of grudge have the option of deploying as a Hero and an Elite, a commander and lieutenant - for free.

If these grudge marked commanders successfully manage to (1) stay alive - the longer they live, the greater the reward for every ally in the battle, (2) Defend / Assault X no. of points and (3) Kill Y no. of enemies, he will get a 100% bonus of RTP's. Dying results in only 75% of whatever they earned so far. If he lives and completes only one of the above objectives, he gets 50%.

Those who get assists off of the commander's kills get a scaling amount of reward of RTP, and accelerate their gains if they score Savior Kills protecting either one of the commanders.

As for the side tasked to kill these people, Killer gets 100% bonus of RTP, and 200% bonus if they then execute them, Players who do more than 25% damage also gets 100% bonus, people who do less than 25% damage get 50% RTP, and everybody else in the area gets 25% RTP. A player who did not land the killing blow but executes a downed commander receives a flat rate of 41 RTP's (a very meager amount). A commander killing another commander receives an additional 50% bonus, and another 50% for executing them. A lieutenant killing another lieutenant is the same reward, but if a lieutenant kills/executes a commander (a hero) he gets a 75%/75% additional reward instead.

Wining the battle will result in an automatic X + a 100% boost to the reward.

So it remains that it is always better to die for your version of the Emperor, rather than live for yourself.

    Notes:

If all goes well, off of these examples a lieutenant could potentially earn X + 2(100%, +200%, +150%, +150%) , or X+(1200%) of the RTP reward (the most of the examples, given if he: secures the all the objectives, wins the match, doesn't die, slays a few enemy players, and kills both of the other leaders). Obviously these numbers are arbitrary and for example purposes only, but it definitely goes to show that the RTP gain should probably have sort of limit based on what can possibly be earned. I'm going to just throw my vote out there that a perfect score, will amount to 4100 RTP's (which is just over $10.00's in the RTS), and everything else below that just marks how well a player could have possibly done that game. (So the example would be 500 RTP's for a victory, and 3RTP's (one for each objective), which then get's multiplied based on the respective modifiers described...)

It is also important to know that F2P characters cannot become Elite. <-- That's a confirmed fact.

With this player driven idea which has not yet had dev support --> They can however, still earn RTP's by killing or assisting Elites/Heros... and perhaps might even be able to buy the option of becoming elite (Nobs) through their gradual accumulation of RTP's, (rewarding their loyalty to the game).

Wow. Your memory Sir, is amazing. This is the thread that I was referring to. Would be great to see this implemented in game -- if not this, then something more fun and engaging would be fantastic.

No matter what, I just want it to be Cost effective, $10 for a single skin for a gun/helm/shoulder pad is to much $10 for a Hole set of say Mk3 legion power armor with Mk3 legion era weapons, jump pack, an heraldry id say "TAKE MY MONEY NOW" depending on if I can use those parts on a MK4-5 then id even go as high as $15 for the option to build my SM out of all the neat bits from all of the Adeptus Astartes, id get MK2-5 an MK8 for sure.

But I can see that with there being so many generations of armor and weapons for space marines an next to none for elder, and Tau, and none for necron if they ever are a playable (I hope not) they may have to get really creative in things that stay both cannon an look good.
