  2. Got destiny, its alright.
Not as bad as I thought it would be, its nothing special though, everything has been done before, this game just combines the aspects and enhances them, it works out alright.
The controls and how the motion works is a bit weird, its a lot like Halo, but better, gunplay is very satisfying, and melee is OP as usual, love my character, cant name her though, I would use Cyristalli like I usually do, but cant name .
Might play a bit more actually....

I wouldn't really compare bE to other companies, these guys work quite differently, they are usually the guys who help other companies, so they know basically every method, I expect they will put different systems into Ec from other games, I'm fine with that, as long as it all works well.

  4. Honestly i think to much hype is bad for games, it like a poison that eats away at it. As peoples hopes and expectations for the game keep growing and growing with every add or cinematic. That once the game release, every one expectations levels are as high as mount Everest, and the game as no hope of reaching that inflated goal.

Its probably better for it to launch with low to modern expectation and then general surprise and impress people who will spread the word and won't inflate other expectations because there's acutely a finished product to judge. Heck that's kind of WoW grew so big, it was over hyper or over marketed, it was a nich game released to a die hard. The game was a 8 mill sub from launch heck it didn't get any where near the mark till at least mid way there there first expansion pack, when suddenly the slow word of mouth just spread like wild fire.

    No they can't...
And Chris Roberts uses BE as an excuse to take the money from Star Citizen's crowd funding and run...
And Bioware's SWTOR was a huge success...due to Bioware's and EA's knowledge and expertise...
And DAOC was a success because Mythic had made 50 MMO's before it...

Let's wait to see how the development goes and then judge...I mean...that's what logical thinking dictates...;)

It won't happen, due to the fact we get to see what they are developing, so when the game comes out we know what we are getting. You can only hype a game unrealistically if you get to see nothing and only rely on what is being told to you.
  7. This is why bE don't have a marketing department per say, They don't have fatcats in lined suits churning out fancy cinematics or hiring on crazy PR hype spinners to rile the masses into a frenzy, Thier just doing the livestreams and talking about the game and amongst themselves and answering questions that haven't been answerd.

So far from what i have read and listened to none of the development team have promised any MASSIVE hyperbole to be in the game at launch to entice the players to get thier founders packs, Any questions they have answerd have always been along the lines of "sometime after launch" or a straight up no (when the players demand Titans to be represented) and for good reason, bE generally has a good idea of whats good for the players and by extension the game, Now if they got a shitty publisher who demanded the development team added in P2W Titans with an extremely difficult progression system to get one with in-game currency then thats something that would piss off the majority of the playerbase ala SOE/Mechwarrior Online.

Anyways the point is i haven't seen any Mega Hype being generated by bE at this time, Unlike when WAR was being developed and they had that PR spinster going around the globe, spewing out all kinds of crap and pretending he was an Ork, can't remember his name, I'll try and find a video so you lot can see how not to reach your future playerbase.

As you can see hes highly dramatic and ultimately he was in it for "the boat load of cash" this is what happens when EA gets thier mitts on an indie company.

  8. "...that I'm not just spouting the same old rubbish time and time again, like some paid marketing monkey"... but you are a paid marketing monkey!

"10 glorious years..." well, that's a lie, it was shut down after 5.

The sad truth about what happened to Mythic was that back in those days the concept of self-funding didn't exist yet, or the idea of crowd funding etc. They couldn't afford to develop WAR because the previous couple of years they were deeply in debt as a result of a legal battle with Microsoft and dwindling numbers of players in DAoC, further being unable to support future developments. So who do they turn to, EA, wonder who's bright idea that was? Take a guess... wasn't the guy who was forced to leave the company, I can tell you that.

  9. as a professional "touter" I don't take anything angry joe says seriously. He'd rate candycrush as best game ever if "approached" to do so.

Me im not going to assume Behavior can do it, in fact I wont. Let them DO IT. and lets judge them on finished product. I am also skeptical, simply no more room for false enthusiasm left in me. So many 40k disappointment.

I'll just wait N see if they put their money where their mouths are.

I used Angry Joe as an example because compared to other review sites out there, he's more neutral thus more believable. Imagine replacing him with Gamespot or IGN, less people will be convinced.
