What do you think? I think that they should be. I think that randomly, every couple of months, the Tyranids just explode en masse out of their zones and every faction is put into a desperate backwards race they cannot hope to defeat the numberless horde. Whichever race can survive the longest against the onslaught, by both defending against ever greater threats and sabotaging the efforts of the other races "wins" the campaign because they bought the most time for their forces to evacuate and regroup to fight again.
They are supposed to attack every faction and have their own strategy. They harass most of the factions, but the one that proves the strongest will see increasing resistance from the Tyranids based on how well the faction is doing. I have no doubt that the devs will test the limits of how much pressure an individual faction can take from the Tyranids, but I wonder... how much pressure will be required to overwhelm all the factions...?
Last Stand.. I like it Fighting to the last warrior, knowing your ultimate demise but not wavering even for a second against the hordes of enemy! Nice PVE challenge that would be. Sector by sector giving in or taking them back, fighting with sand and blood against your teeth So, we are basically talking Global Events here I'm all into Global Events for sure. The shouldn't be annoyingly frequent like in Rift, though We should enjoy our victories. I'd hate going to sleep after the game night realizing that all my efforts to benefit our mutual team's cause are going to be in vain in 30 minutes
HEED WHAT HE SAYS. Rift really overdoes the whole "world events" feature. Make the nids a problem, but not one that is there ALL THE TIME.
So, on a server with thousands of players split into four factions that will be fighting for victory, you are asking if the NCP could beat us all and win? No... If the Tyranids do ever beat us, then we must really suck at playing the game.
The possibility of a bad end is always good. This way commanders will have to occasionally divert forces to fighting the nids and hold off on expansions into enemy territory to keep their own. Limited ammo will make fighting them even harder. The only problem is if they would be intelligent enough to cut supply lines or would just run to a capture point until they all die or take it.
The AI faction that can play 24/7, spawn unlimited reinforcements, cheat and attack everywhere at the same time and you want one of its objectives to be to win? The nids ain't in the game to win, the are to harass whoever is winning and provide a pve distraction
