I see campaigns influencing one major function, # of players playing. Before they had only incentive of ranking up, but now you can earn RTC and eventually they could put in unique items for reward, probably cosmetics, as well as add new battles or ways of battling. I've just returned from holiday hiatus and it was a nice change to see, even if it is fairly simple at the moment.
Have to say i miss that concept too, i even made a thread about it some time ago just to see how others feel as well, and id reckon the majority would like something like that. Running around filling purposeless influence bars and capping points that have no functionality or purpose from both mechanics or story perspective can be (mindless) fun, but it really doesent feel 40k and the novelty wears thin fast. Im still hoping all of our current gamemodes see the trash-can soon enough (bad the Fortress, but it needs ton of love to actually be fun and engaging), and that the maps actually transform from some team-deathmatch quasi-arena system to actual maps that feel like objectives in which the factions that war on Arkhona would actually get tied up in. Make me feel like theres a purpose to me being in the actual map/world dammit!
ahh finally a good thread. Seems to be good time to check the forums again. The objective/void shield, yep dont forget the void shield, /missle launch thing is brought up every few months by different people. Even i made a thread about it some time ago: http://forum.eternalcrusade.com/threads/purpose-of-capping-points.55777/ As far as i know no dev have replied why we dont have nice things to one of these threads. As for the campaign topic... From steam EC news on 30. NOVEMBER 2016 - OVEUR_BHVR: "Campaigns I mentioned on Twitch why we didn't want to enable Campaigns last week. Turns out we were quite right not to do that. If you feel your service latency (mentioned above) is high now, it would have blown up in our latest scalability tests. This is entirely fixable as campaign goals are simple creatures but I'm sure you understand that while diagnosing, debugging and improving latency, we shouldn't add to it. We estimate 2 weeks of work refactoring a part of the Campaigns while we also focus on our continued and never ending work on improving networks, client, server, database latency and performance (ie framerate). " So technically the campaigns were finished at the end of november but had some latency issues, which is okay. But now were are months later and have these "campaigns"...HUZZAHH!!! but hey: https://twitter.com/40kcrusade/status/822548279489658881 "#40kcrusade has been nominated for @MMORPGcom's latest round of Player awards! Vote here, Crusaders >> http://bit.ly/2jIRwiJ "
Yes that is true but still it doesn`t explain why that it was named "campaigns". Don`t call it campaigns without " " - if I see cat its owner can say to me it is elephant but it is still meowing and scratching. Events - I could agree. Also I suppose it is just short boost of players. Just like we can see after each patch. I am not sure how many players will keep for longer then one "campaign".
well nimrock you know how this works: Nathans definition is different and because other games call their thing like that he can make it too. What was that? ah right EC has more mmo/persistent stuff in it than other games called mmo. So as long you can stretch the meaning and call something in some way than it is correct and fits the term. bE is safae because it ingame no matter how much bare bones it is. its like with the world map
LOL just fucking LOL MMORPG... I am not following this so I don`t know who is allowed to nominate it to start competition with other games. But anyone who did it is total moron.
Yeah I know how it suppose to works. But I still am amazed that it still is working. Half year ago some chick from Russia send message to my friend that he is looking for husband in Europe. He replied and showed me her mails. I read two of them and told him "Man... in a week or two she will start to tell you how much he want to see you but she don`t have money for plane". It was just obvious couse all her mails were like some made by copy/paste messages that could be send to multiple adresses. I missed by three weeks but then he got "I need 400 euro". And what is even more funny when we talked about it he said "well I know I didn`t even saw her on skype couse she said she have no camera but what if she is a real person?". Conclusion is: there are a lot of cheaters who love to sell you ideas and lies. But why they exist? Only couse there is a lot of people buying it from them. So... people like me bough the game only after watching videos and looking at infographic ignoring steam opinions couse I thought they are flawed couse people are moaning about game that is still in alpha. After about 4-5 months I saw what is going on and got pissed. But I can understand people that give game a shot. I just can`t understand that commnunity part who is constantly raped by devs and are still saying "I love you - if you fuck me than perhaps one day we could have some serious relationship" to them.
That was kindof a dumb thing for you to say, honestly. I was responding to someone asking a question. What was the point of your post? Sure, everything ever could take until the heat death of the universe or the end of time as we know it, so you should never complain, right? Don't be ridiculous. Like standing up for your country or your women? HEYO
