The one benefit of it though is still that you have people logging in to play the game for RTC. If you have 4 characters each of a different faction, then you had to win 40 games, and no one has a 100% win streak so I suspect it is closer to 65 games played, which probably can't be done in the last two days unless you don't work or go to school. I though agree with you that they need the loser consolation prize, as you still have to put in time and games to get it which isn't that much as is.
If all our campaigns are is glorified slot machines then i honestly dont want them in. Not being tied to a single faction (at least rewards wise) in my eyes completely defeats the purpose of it even being a competition.
It's not a competition, it's a campaign for your faction to succeed in as a faction. I bet they will add in a competitive goal that only one faction can win each campaign that has its own reward. Adding in something that EVERYONE can win first is a really smart move on their part. The people who seem to only want one faction to get rewards don't seem to be LSM mains.
If the rewards were the same for everyone it wouldnt be a competition. They arent, hence its a competition, if it werent there wouldnt be a progress bar, a bigger reward for the faction that does the best and the devs wouldnt announce a winner at the end of it. Except im not advocating for no rewards, im advocating for not being able to literally be rewarded everything the campaign possibly can offer, which appears how it works now. Everyone should be rewarded for the faction they "chose" to fight the campaign for, then depending on how their faction does they will be rewarded more or less, which is exactly how competitive endeavors like this worked in other games, for example the GW2 Tournaments while they were still around.
It is literally just a match win counter. If you have 10 wins, you get 1000 points. If you have x wins, you get a 2500 points. That is all there is to it. No competition, no war, certainly no campaign with any kind of goal to contest.
If you can fill the bar up before time runs out, you get 2500 extra. It doesn't stop when one faction fills it up first. There is no competition.
Source on that statement? I dont recall this elaboration coming directly from the devs. If that is truly the case, then this campaign is utterly pointless.
I'm sad to say that I got it from @Katitof and I'm taking him at his word for once. Hopefully he sees this and can comment again on it. The way I was told it works is. If you get 10 Wins, you will get 1000RTC If you fill up the bar as a faction before time runs out, you get 2500RTC If you do both, you get both at a total of 3500RTC. Every faction can complete both tasks, there is no competition. I asked him several times about each point just to make sure. He said it was talked about by the devs on the discord. As for it being 100% pointless, then don't worry about it. It doesn't bother you in the slightest, but others want it, and they want the rewards. So don't be a negative nancy and try to ruin it for everyone else. Besides, according to the devs this is the first part of the Campaigns, it's not the final thing they planned to do with it. Jumping the gun a little bit there buddy.
I dont follow the discord, not really a fan that vital info such as this isnt conveyed on channels which most of the community follows either. Till that bar fills up its a wait and see if its true, wouldnt be the first time two devs were saying completely opposite things. In my eyes, you are the one ruining it for me (and the many others who feel the same way as i do), because it defeats the purpose of even adding them. You vouch for it being like it is because you want more free virtual money, based on all the posts of yours around the threads seeing what you can purchase with what you will get and so on. My opinion is based on the campaigns having a genuine purpose that isnt a glorified weekly and that will actually incentivize people to stick to a faction and drive it to victory, you know, as it was envisioned since the first moments the campaigns were mentioned. We will see in the end what the devs do in the future. Im quite aware that these are, in their own words, "Campaigns 1.0". Which is why i (and others of a similar train of thought) are voicing our displeasure over how its handled, in hopes that "Campaigns 1.5" actually becomes better. Like mentioned above, the devs will decide how they will approach future campaigns, but i know i will stand firm in my opinion that being able to reap rewards on all the faction is bogus.
