Hi all, I call upon all Lorehammers, Loremasters, Runepriests and other such knowledgeable people of the forums. My wife is an avid Robin of Shirwood fan and she claims that Warhammer 40k stole the "Wolves of Fenris" and "The Wolf Time" idea from them. Her argument can be briefly found in the Robin of Shirwood Wiki @ points 3.12 and 3.13 where it clearly states two episodes labeled "The Time of the Wolf " and calls them the "Sons of Fenris" which clearly states the episode was aired on 21/06/1986 My argument was that Warhammer 40k has been around for a buttload of time but it would appear it has been proven that Robin of Sherwoods version has been around one year prior to 40k's conception, even before the Space Wolves where even invented. Shown Here it clearly states that Warhammer 40k was created one year after the eposide aired by Rick Priestly in 1987. To be fair both would have originally got their lore from the original *Norse Mythology* as corrected by Grigdusher below of Fenrir found here *edit* Please tell me this is not so. I refuse to believe that the 13th company was originally a bunch of nancys prancing about in tights in Sherwood Forrest in England.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Norse_mythology it's not folk lore! both war 40k and robin are for sure not the first to use norse gods as inspiration.
Follow up question. Are all space wolves susceptible to turning into wolfen or is that just an early on potential risk of a defect in the process of incorporating the gene seed into the body. So basically once you don't turn early on you are safe for ever. I know some change later, but they were in the warp and the whole thing seemed very chaos mumbo jumboy to me.
Those nancy's were hardcore terrorist and bandits. Just saying. Although..GW is Headquartered in Nottingham.
Actually I think everybody is susceptible to becoming a red mist It's called using enough explosives or something particularly big and stompy
