    A chuckle echoed through the alley before being lost in the street beyond. "If you've ever had the need to see yourself than you know me well. The contract is so our business may commence, it discusses your payment , generous considering the work, and the clauses of your task. Sign and i shall explain further" the words sunk through the mind of its listeners though one stayed ricochetting about the mind. Sign...Sign...Sign

    Manfred was unfazed by the seemingly random appearance of this "man" after all he is a sentient corpse so he figured there must be stranger things in this city. "But of course I would love to sign this contract." He said ignoring the concerns of the others as he took the pen from the figure's clawed hand and signed the contract spelling his name out in clean and well practiced cursive. It wasn't like he had anything to loose by signing it and given the reputation of the masters this will definitely result in him getting to not only bust heads but get paid for it. "and if I may say sir I look forward for what the future entails." He then held out the pen for the next person that was going to sign.
  3. "Sure, I'll sign since you so sincerely ask. I'm just a bit interested, you said you are in need of our sets of skills. How many other letters have you send? I forgot my goldfish on stove, so depending how expendables we are, I need to ask my neighbour to feedeat it." Matthew asks, since it doesn't seem to lead to instant decapitation.

    After Manny willingly took the pen from the cloaked fellow, Whisks gave him a concerned look. Which only grew more concerned as his undead friend just signed his name down without hesitation and invited the others around him to do the same. And with CrabApples following suit Whisks couldn't help but place his hands on his face and shake his head. "Manny...Manny...Manny...ya poor sod. Do ya knows what ya jus did? Ya prob'lee inslaved 'ight now an ya don'ts evin kno!" How was he supposed to be the voice of reason when Manny just ignored him regardless. Speaking of voices there was a small annoying voice echoing in his head. "Sign" is all it said, "Sign" was all it needed to say. It rang out constantly, and was starting to get on his nerves. He looked at the devilish contract again. He had to think of a way out of blindly signing the cursed thing.

    An idea came to mind.

    @bossaroo

    "Oh bugger me wuld ya jus look at dat" Whisks said, his hands at his sides, his head shaking in false disappointment, "da bluddy pen is waaaaay too big fer sum wun loik me ta sign wit. Aftah all dis an I still kant evin sign da fing proppa. Wat a bluddy shame. Ah well, gots ta learn ta cut yur losses me finks."

    Manfred sighed and resisted the urge to roll his eyes at his companion's usual overly cautious demeanor. "Oh come now Whisks if this man wished to enslave me he would have already done it. Besides it would be rude to show up to a career opportunity and refuse to sign the paper work." He said looking down at his small friend. When Whisks argued about the pen being too big Manfred imagined a pen fit for his size and almost laughed as the thought of such a tiny writing utensil was quite amusing even to an old corpse. "You do realize if you don't take the job you're going to have to make your way home by yourself? I will find myself quite busy at the business at hand and likely wont be able to return home for quite a while. So I suggest you sign it even if you must apply ink to your hand and draw your signature with your fingers unless you want to walk home without me."

    Jonathan slowly looked at the paper as he heard the voice in his head. Sign it sign it sign it. It repeated. Thinking for a moment the echo could possibly be someone else he looked backwards then forwards. "Well can only put my own name." Johanthen thought first thinking about using John but the possibility of offending someone stopped it in his mind. Signing johanthen macguffin hoping if it did any fortune to him it would be shared with his sister.

    Manny wasn't exactly giving him much of a choice in the matter here. Walk all the way back home and just wait for whether or not his buddy ever came back? I mean sure he'd be able to consider himself a home owner with very little work on his end, but it'd get real boring, real fast without any company around. Not to mention, he wouldn't be able to enforce his claim on his own, the squatters would just overrun the place in the no time. At least they'd be in the same boat if signed the paper, sink or swim, which ever the outcome would have been.

    He wasn't sure why he just thought signing the paper was a good idea. Was he going nuts? The constant suggestion of 'sign' certainly wasn't helping and made it damn near impossible to think of anything else at the moment. Maybe that's what's driving him crazy. He did a double take between looking at the paper and Manny's masked face. His hands clenched the sides of his face as he bitterly groaned at his predicament.

    "I'll sign da damn bluddy paypah! Jus giv me da damn bluddy pen!" Whisks shouted, still not content with signing an unreadable contract, but figuring he'd shut the voices up at least if he went through with it. As the pen was held out to him he coated the end of his worm-like tail to act like a makeshift pen for himself. "Wuld ya mind bringin dat paypah closah ta me befor da bleedin' ink drois allredee?" He asked whoever it was that held onto the contract. Once it was near enough to him, just using the tip of his tail he signed his name on the paper-Whisks LeTrounce- as sloppy as it was doing so. "Dere, ya gotz me ta sign it. Now wutz all dis 'bout now, an wutz da payout. I'z exspetin a noice paymint aftah allz sed an done an all dat."

    Seeing another new arrival, of both another member of the team and the person who seemed to be the Master who called for their service, along with her head ringing with the word "sign" was plenty of interesting things to note for the moment (particularly why "Sign" was the word that couldn't seem to get out of her head when their employer spoke.)
    So Clarissa threw any caution to the wind that might have came about from seeing such a small fine print and said "Fine, I'll sign the contract." Taking the pen after the rat had signed, she signed her name in full as Clarissa Cartwright then held the pen out for anyone else that still needed/wanted to sign. Needless to say, the Investigator was hoping the fine print wasn't going to be important information in the future.

    The figure nods their head "good good. Now your payement for this simple task 100 echoes each. Though failure is punishable as seen hear" the finger drags a finger along several lines of fine print. "I doubt you shall fail though. Your task is to deal with a box of sunlight" the figure spits out the word sunlight its usual unnerving tone spiking harshly scattering thoughts and causing a brief yet sharp pain to ones mind , the figure recovers its composure before beginning again " the stolen mirror-catch box is in the flit. " the figure points up to the walk ways and bridges that connect the rooftops of fallen london that form the Flit "Deal with it and return to me here" the figure passes out a few slips of paper which read an address along with a few sigils that avoid ones sight moving about on the paper at the corner of ones vision. With that the figure begins to fade their edges blurring into the shadows and darkness of the alleyway of the neath.

    (OOC: feel free to ask about the Flit in the OOC thread )

    "Well, this seems like it will be quite the interesting excursion don't you think Whisks?" Manfred said after the mysterious being had left. He knew of the Flit while he personally had never been up there he knew perfectly well how many deviants and scoundrels lived in those gangways and makeshift shacks. But the added note of sunlight intrigued him too it had been too long since he saw natural light, as in he couldn't remember seeing any at all. But if this master wanted it destroyed he will do so not just to simply get paid but maybe to get this one's favor and possibly come closer to the power he wanted.
