If you sleep for three hours and suddenly there is a new thread with 30+ responses... Three things: -I find it funny when people just spam rollex. There are a couple of them who are probably not bad players but who just abuse this mechanic so excessively that it starts to actually negatively affect their playstyle because they don't properly strafe or aim anymore. -It can be really annoying to face a good opponent doing this. They might even beat you without it, sure, but that doesn't mean its ok to exploit the last bit out of every facet of the game. I don't find it horrible or rant-worthy, but I sometimes wonder if we really need to go there. I have talked this over with multiple people and the problem is not so much the top players using rollex in their duels. The problem is that it establishes a new standard. At some point we started to tell new players they either have to do all this shit:"rollex, strafing, airbursting", -or they can't compete. -The person who originally discovered this exploit is really, really mad about it being used competitively.
thats not an exploit i think? you just cancel the animation fighting games have this you use it to extend combos or do things that you normally can't do
Threads like this are why I was glad when I discovered rollex in this game. Prepare for a biased statement. You guys are gonna just have to get used to it being in the game. It's an animation thing, and the current dev team doesn't have the power to fix anything animation related as far as I know. And FYI before I start getting replies stating "I bet you hid rollex for yourself and only showed it to your BLOP buddies". No, Jordan was in the UAT Garrison with the rest of us while we were testing new changes and right as I discovered it, I showed it to him and how to replicate it and stated how powerful it is when done correctly upon discovery. TL;DR: Get used to it being in the game, it's not going anywhere cuz animation (and besides it isn't even hard to do, you can learn it easily).
So maybe we should have a tread for new comers to now what to use to be competitive in this game like this rollex and other things. I was calling hackers abuser to so many people and looks like i was right, but if this was in a tread i would not loose my time doing it...i stated in one post that one dude was rolling and hitting me at the same time and no one helped me telling me what was happening, wy? How many players left because this is a thing and they don't now? How many players left because of people using macros, yes i now i know it is possible to use it mause related programs but wen i started i called hacker to people using macros to Adad. We have a small population we have a private game just for us, and we don't respect other wy? I play with the same persons day after day should.t we stop abidong this just to bit better? If i was incharge i would make a tread with all the permitted exploits is explanation so people don't leave the game because of the abusers killing them and so they no the devs don't end because they can't not that they don't want. In my end im a bit more happy, because i now i lost some 1vs1 because the dude was worse player than me and uses some exploit to beat my fare game. I'm a 44 year old guy kicking some hackers but in 40k universe im awesome. And the game is so so good we all had the privilege of playing this game for shower and had a lot of fun so we just need a bit more os opening eyes to everyone so we now what is going on. So wen we listen the "Guet gude" they really mean "Get hacks"!! A few days without some abusers and i stay in 1st place so many times lol. I'm an old happy man today. Yeah, wtf is rollex even. Why can good ranged players who are objectively better than me just win a melee engagement? Why can't they just stand still and die because sooner or later I'll break their knife with spam? REALLY UNBALANCED. Also buff orkz, wagha.
What I'm more interested in: How many situations actually are there where the rollex actually made enough of a difference on the match at hand? Yes, it may be annoying and could be classified as "clever use of game mechanics" but... If you have a situation where the rollex decided between a win or loss then there was already something very wrong with your team play to begin with. And if rollex was just a game changer for your little d00l which actually kept you from doing something more productive for your team... then it doesn't matter one bit that it exists -> PEBKAC.
