Also could have been titled, "Alternate Realities Aside, Why Hasn't There Been A Knights-Errant Roleplay Yet?" So first off, sorry to the.. Five or Six Threads in here I so hastily ducked out of and then vanished from for just shy of a month. Life is still proving hectic and I've kind of buckled down into getting a certification so I can actually start making a decent enough income to relocate late this summer. But I've managed to squeeze in enough time to read The Vengeful Spirit, which has had me turning over ideas in my head for the last few days. In reference to the title, I'm sure some of us have theorized their own Legion of Astartes and Demigod made flesh father of such a Legion. Anyone care to share? Perhaps we could even get an alternate version of the Great Crusade/Heresy of the Primarchs. Also, my impressions of the book really got me interested in the Knights-Errant. The Sigillite's agents, drawn from both traitor and loyalist Legions. Their sections in Vengeful Spirit were a great read, all of the differing personalities. Also hats off to another author who made sure the Boys in Blue were cooler than their 40k descendants. So that is the second part of this, if there were a Knights-Errant Roleplay, what Legion do you see yourself joining? Basically I'm just saying this is a place for 30k Ideas and Knights-Errant characters, because while I'm a bit too busy to reliably throw myself behind any thread at the moment, I still love talking Warhammer with you folks and ever since the series has come out, I've been in love with Great Crusade and Horus Heresy era stuff.
I had a few Ideas and theorys for the unknown primarchs, I even had the idea of creating one out of the fact there unkown and hearing once that it was possible it was for build your own legion type of thing. Wan't me to share one of the ideas for a Priamrch I made one of them up?
Of course! Feel free to share! I'm rather interested at seeing what Primarchs people can cook up. This was inspired by Uriel's previous Phoenix Lord thread. Who knows, maybe someone will be crazy enough to have an alternate reality/custom primarchs history of the Crusade and Heresy.
I always find myself wondering what became of the other two Primarchs. While I'm not really a scholar of BL lore and am missing any details that might exist beyond the heavy implications that Russ and co were the cleaners during the purging of the Primarchs I've maintained a theory on what I think happened. Too attached to their people/homes: This is one of my preferred ones simply on the grounds that we've seen evidence enough of how attached to the boys grew to some of their homes and that they weren't perfectly enslaved to the Emperor's will immediately upon his arrival *Cough* Angron *Cough*. What if two of these Primarchs had belonged to non-compliant elements of humanity and opted to stand with them rather than fall in with the Imperium? I think one of my bigger reasons for supporting this is how the active surviving Primarchs still refer to these figures as brother, and not just in a clinical medical fashion but actually seem to regret their loss. Where as with chaos corrupted ones or mutants/xenos sympathizers I find it hard to believe anyone would be sniffing at their loss. Granted if the latter two were the case ol Emps could of always lied about everything, let Russ murder 'em and just say "Ohblahblahsad loss so sorry your brothers are ded. " Just some thing I've cooked up after piecing together what I've read. Also obligatory Prime-Ork suggestion coming soon.
One of the Theorys for them was, I thought up involved one being mutated more then sanguine or magnus or possibly even being shoved into a a giant suit of power armor to mask his horrible appearance. Had a few ideas for ones personality as well, But growing up on a possible world that was a wasteland and only just keep one a group of nomadic survivors alive using mostly his wits and heavy management of resources. He has none of the beauties of any primarch but the smarts, and uses a bit more modern tactics while trying to use science to make every bodies lives more better. I would imagine him living in a suit of armor similar to a big Daddy though. possibly Deran could have said possibly from a priamrch Like Deran's one that resisted and stood with his civilization against the imperiums, Possibly more advance and had a significant size that took a while to take out. During this time I think its possible for that rogue primarch to have taken the other unknown primarch out by either using techno science that was on level with emps. That or the priamrch could have landed in the Halo stars were all kind of creepy stuff happens. I had another Idea of possibly a primarch that was specialized in space. Though even if Russ went to kill the Primarch, He wouldn't have to kill the legion, most if not all of them would be loyal to the emperor if the primarch decided to stay with there civilization and fight against the emperor, Heck there legion names wouldn't even need to be erased since most of them still fought for the emperor. Even then it would be hard to Sush everyone about that legions fate. The Last Idea I had would it be possible if a Primarch was enslaved to a alien civilization and was basilica turned a living servitor. That or some type of tragedy that involved a xeno race that had to be destroyed and found a way to exterminate space marines with bioweapons or viruses that affected one legions geneseed.
Can we also Style the Primarchs? Like makeovers? Cos Fulgrim honey, you clearly got dressed in the dark. ... I can get out of the serious thread if you like The ideas I've seen so far are really interesting.
Always putting the faults at me, eh? That said, my theories of the 2 primarchs were actually that 1 left the galaxy and encountered the Nids and either was totally absorbed/enslaved into them which is how they learned of the emperor (keep in mind they head straight for terra, nothing else matters for them, cuz they want his juicy super-psyker-bits). While the other went full heretic before everyone else and was purged before anyone else went heretic/renegade and The Emperor or Russ, as his executioner, downed him good and purged all their existence.
Well then that raises the question of send out a legion out of the galaxy when you first need to take it and why there name and legion name was erased. Also isn't the astronomicon is what attracting the Nids? It always has made me wonder. What the unknown primarchs did that was so wrong, There names and legion names were erased from history it self and not one of the legionaries in any of the legions has the nerve to talk about it, Except the space wolves. I mean it had to be something. That would justify the work that it would take to erase them from history, and the history of them on every planet they went to and make sure every Legionaries stays silent about it. I mean even the Inquisition has files on the traitor legions because they need it. But some how emps was able to erase everything about them. Which makes me wonder why someone would go to those lengths to erase that much information about someone. Even if they turned traitor he could have had there fate remember to make a example of them.
