People still whining about eldar?I mean ok the vehicles werent exactly fixed but havent we all learned how to deal with this shit a month or two ago?
Considering they're lighter and floatier, yes. They should not be behaving the way they are, physics-wise.
Now you're just being purposely obtuse, the same reason why exploiting plasma cannons is more reviled then massing boltguns. The tactic is effective the point of being broken, and they do it because they know it's broken and that they'll rack up an insane amount of kills with minimal effort. How many times have I seen an Eldar vehicle just not fire it's guns and move rapidly around the map to create area denial? Countless, countless times.
Well, certain people got a very serious case of noob and will never learn, regardless of how weak the faction they face is, psychopski being prime example, still bitching abut eldar, despite the fact that LSM stomp them now. Why? Ramming vehicles is about the worst idea you can have as skimmer driver and ramming infantry - you got hit by a tank. Flying tank is still a tank. Don't expect to survive it.
Lol, I would pay to see physics put on them. I mean, Warlock robes barely work. Lets get some floating tanks that glitch out every few seconds.
Alright, I'll explain some physics for you. High school should have covered that, but who knows what happened? So you're getting hit by a vehicle while wearing power armor that can survive pretty intense strikes. As a reference, let's use the damage suffered from falling. If you fall about 20m, you take a little bit of health damage. v = √(2gy) v = √(2 *(9.8m/s^2) * 20m) v = √(2 *(196m^2/s^2)) v = √(392m^2/s^2) v= 19.7m/s Now, you have a velocity in meters per second from falling 20m. For kicks, we'll convert that to miles per hour. 1m/s = 2.237mph 19.7m/s = 44.3mph So falling from 20m means you hit the ground and stop suddenly while traveling 44.3mph, and you take a little bit of health damage from having all of that kinetic energy applied to your body over a very short period of time. You have a Wave Serpent traveling along at, say, 40mph. It impacts a Marine who is standing still. The Wave Serpent did not stop moving and immediately transfer all of its kinetic energy into the Marine; it transferred some of its kinetic energy into the Marine and the Marine would, in reality (for a fantasy universe) be accelerated from his resting position over a short period of time. However, due to the fact that the Wave Serpent is hovering and that the point of impact would be around chest-height on the Marine, and that the Wave Serpent is not crushing the Marine underneath its weight, the Marine only needs to take enough force to push him over to a degree such that the Wave Serpent is no longer in contact with him, using his boots as the fulcrum point. The amount of kinetic energy actually being transferred to the Marine is much less than a lethal amount (and even less than falling and hitting the ground with a comparable velocity), although the impact would certainly knock him down and/or stun him. It's unfortunate for you, but physics has won out over EIDF. Edit: In fact, this ought to be viewed by the devs and used to re-evaluate the way Eldar vehicle collisions are calculated. @BrentEllison @Oveur
Ohh, you want to go physics way? That's so very nice of you! But let me ask you this: You do realize the velocity is hardly the only thing that matters here? Where is the mass of coliding objects? What are velocity vectors? What is the actual force of impact? What is surface of impact? (its different when you hit a wall and different when you hit a blade you know) You can't talk about any kinetic energy transfer without using mass, sorry, physics do not work that way. In face, space marine have a BETTER chance survivng hit from Rhino then skimmer tank, moving with the same velocity. Why? Because of space of impact. Its very different situation when you faceplant yourself on the ground or on the wall and very different when a thin object hits you with the exact same force. But you're right! Space Marine wouldn't be sent flying if hit by object like a serpent! He would be cleaved in two or behedead instead. You're not getting crushed under anything in EC, its the frontal impact force. You could argue when you try to melee vehicle and it starts to moving and kills you, but that applies equally to ALL vehicles, only difference being, skimmers can do it to the sides and with better acceleration, which they have gave up 40% of HP for. TL;DR There are some things that even salt tear rain codex maneuver won't fix.
Words are cheap hunbun, but I notice you didn't provide any math. And you're not actually trying to say in one post, "you're being hit by a flying tank you won't survive" and then in the next, "that tank is actually razor thin and sharp on all sides my bad"? You should check out the actual models for the Wave Serpent, then try again. Man, EIDF is clumsy, but dedicated!
I don't see why people are still complaining about fighting Eldar I don't find them tough at all. Every match i've had against them we won easily.
