Bringing Cancel Stand-up by getting hit back?

Cancel standup-animation with melee hits again?

  1. This especially hit's support characters.

    Before that patch we were able to shorten the animation of an ally standing up by hitting him with melee once, especially usefull in combat situations, so they could get into cover quickly.

    As it is now we can't do that any more...
    Beeing Support is now more of a "clean-up" task, as you can't do your job while in combat as standing up feels like forever.
    Especially it's long enough for you to get shot down into the dirt again, nothing anybody can do against it.

    I miss that "Exploit" and say it should become a feature again, what about you?

    Yeah, I feel like they should either bring it back, or shorten the animation.

    Sure, it was a bug, but it required you to get into melee range, thus removing the main advantage of Psyker heals - range.

    Removing this bug has made Apothecary even stronger compared to other supports as well.

    Honestly I think it is better as it is now. If someone is put down they should stay down. Animation cancelling is an exploit that wasnt intended by the developers. Healers are required in a battle but they shouldnt dominate the fight to provide endless resupply of fighters to fight. If a person is situationally-unaware enough to get his head blown off it shouldnt take someone else to save his rear end with a simple key click.

    On ticket maps this very small change has helped attackers to actually attack and in my opinion has made for much more satisfying games because people have to work as a team and the apothecary is not godlike in his abilities.

    Speeding up the animation of a revived character standing up? Yep, sure...

    Reintroducing an exploitable bug which gives a counter intuitive advantage to those who know about it? No, why would you even suggest this?

    As a painboy it always felt incredibly satisfying to smack one of the boys on the backside of the head :(

    It was physically impossible to actually do that until they fixed the attack hitbox so that you could hit downed enemies.

    Other way around. Before the fix, an apoth could just run to his target, 0.5sec full heal, proc the exploit and both could leave the spot instantly with minimal damage.
    I was even more rambothecary before the fix.

    Just halve the time it takes to get up.

    Agree, the now uninterruptible time the animation needs is way too long. Granted, if one stands up from being near dead, being somewhat dazed comes with it (I guess, have neither firsthand experience nor medical experience), but all of the characters are in one way or another used to the extremes of war and trained/made/born to survive shit that would kill others. And for the sake of fun in game, this time has to be reduced, because it only makes those people such a tempting target.
