Yea, I want to weigh in on balance, but it's just rough right now. Not sure if I still warp through shieldbros or not anymore. Any melee unit near basically means certain death unless a teammate comes to my rescue. I'll get a hit or two in sometimes but generally get stomped after that.

^I think the MoN nerf helped a lot, but I think a lot of loyalists guilds became active once the patch hit. Saw that hypothesis earlier, and it makes sense. Chaos is at a power disadvantage now, but it's also been spoiled on super tough ground assaults. We have to adjust to being underdogs like the loyalists did when MoN was ascendant.

Well, someone tried to make the argument that Chaos was just disorganized and doesn't coordinate. And I don't believe that for a second: for PUGs, Chaos players have been the most communicative out of the whole batch so far. In fact, if I bet money on which side's PUGs would win, I would put money down for Chaos.

Look at the world map, even with the shield bugged out as it is, Chaos did really good on the call to arms.

Granted part of that was sections of PG joining due to the massive que, but a large part of the loyalists guilds were still active and fighting against us.

Am I right what only Brent who plays shieldbro in defence?
  5. can anyone summarize what Brent said? Can't watch it right now.

The 200 degree can´t be right in my opinion. Flanking them should be possible. The amount of damage it can block is something for balance tweaks later on. I don´t mind if they block alot as long as they die if i can shoot them in hte ass. That is numbers crunching.
But the size of the forcefield hitbox at least is a mechanic. And thats what we still do right? Testing mechanics?
  7. «It's a defensive character who’s tough to kill but slow and can't use his shield while sprinting. You can always run away from him, or bring friends, or use a nade, or a weapon that supposed to break the shield faster».
I don't get the part about nades, since shieldbro can take kraks like a champ, and the sprinting part is also weird, since there is still some coverage from the shield even during sprint, and melta/plasma don't do nearly enough damage to the shield, but it's all unimportant, because
LSM players reaction on Chaos PG was priceless and we should totally talk about it more.
    Vipermon and CabalTrainee like this.
  8. Thanks.
Lol "run away or bring friends" as a game mechanic........ just lol

Actually plasmagun stops shieldbro dead, and lowers his shield... with autofire you could cook him before overheating, and is you have one more support hes dead and down.
(omg lets not turn this thread into anti-PG one :) for Emperor sake)

Let's not start bashing PG here.

About the Sbro: yeah... they really need to reconsider their "Bring PC or run away" idea. That they outright invalidate the mainstay weapon they want the majority to use, the bolter, tells you alot. That is bad design gentlemen, no other words to describe it. "Bring friends" is not an option either... know why? The Sbro can bring a friend too, it's not like they get one Sbro for two non-Sbros:p Ever seen two Sbros covering each others flanks? Wonderful sight to behold, nothing but charged PC shots can deal with that. "Krak grenade" nope... not an option either because the Sbro will just storm forward, raise the shield and explode it into my face, himself surviving it most of the time.

Also Sbros are anything but slow. Hell, their mace (don't know about the others but would expect similar things) heavy attack covers the same distance as a lunge light attack on a JPA. And when they sprint, they sprint at the same speed as others do... there is no option to gain distance on them if they are paying attention.

The block area needs to be reduced. Plain and simple.
