  3. I get the impression that @erik69 has accidentally stumbled in here by mistake. :D

This is a Warhammer 40K game my friend. As with everything Games Workshop related the costs are high and the customisation is important. Also LSM are the poster boys of the IP and as such attract the most attention and in this case players. So get all you're shoulders, backpacks, helms and weapons to make yourself look as baller as possible.

Gotta milk that cash cow baby! And maybe just maybe they'll have enough money left over to finish off the Ork animations or the Eldar Autarch...

So is the us vs. them mentality when it comes to the devs. @Oveur implied on the last stream that there are 6 people working on EC or at least that were present during the stream, one of which is the Community Manager and I'd imagine another being the Q&A guy. So that leaves 4 or fewer actual devs if the former, there being only 6 people on the EC team, is true.

If anyone is at fault for the current state of the game, it is the executive(s) whose decision it was to pull everyone to Dead by Daylight, bottlenecking EC's continued development in the first place. It is not Nathan's fault, it is not Noah's fault, and it isnt the fault of any of the other 4-8 people on the team trying to keep the game afloat. Hell, Nathan has been the one who has most frequently and actively addressed the community here on the forums despite that not being his responsibility to do so. The fact that he is perhaps the only one frequently taking time out of his day to reply to threads speaks volumes of his work ethic. Like it or not, if it wasn't for him and Noah this game would probably be dead already. And for anybody who gets a mind to bellyache about the problems with Defiance and Dust 512, you need to understand that those problems did not arise until after Nathan was replaced as senior producer of those games by the executives in charge. Those issues are not his fault, especially in the case of Defiance.

There are four things that I reckon the EC dev team is lacking that it needs in order to not be so bottlenecked: 3d modelers, map makers, animators, and perhaps more programmers, and not necessarily in that order. Nathan, if you have any say in the matter, try to find talented people within the EC community and consider pushing for those people to be offered employment. I don't pretend to know the specifics of outsourcing, but I'd like to think hiring people with a vested interest and/or passion in seeing this game succeed is going to be more cost effective than having to outsource.

  6. I never liked these boycott X threads, a big reason being they're not going to work. The people who peruse the forums are just a smaller percentage of those who play the game, and some of our regular posters don't even play anymore. Point being even if you get a lot to do so it's probably not going to have a big effect on game, I don't believe that the last attempts did. The other question is should we? I don't know. From a balance perspective I think LSM have the strongest equipment choices in game, especially in coordination, but I don't think it's so much stronger than the others, just a slight advantage that's mostly just seen from guild play. Obviously it's not an insurmountable advantage because they lose a lot. So on that basis I don't really think it warrants a boycott, particularly since most of them aren't drawn to LSM to cheese, they're there because of them being the poster boys and their favorites, most of them don't even think that they have the best gear, they believe that they have the worst actually. Point being they aren't inherently doing something wrong by playing Space Marines.

Yet in the other hand I would like to see more from every other faction, more players playing them, more gear, more cosmetics, more character, more matches against Xenos, etc, but I don't think trying to alienate a large segment of the playerbase is the answer, I don't know what the answer is, besides bE stepping it up and how they should have marketed the other factions more when they were actually making trailers instead of doing even more Space Marine hype for most of them.
  7. Boycotting anything isn't healthy for the game even if we had healthy numbers and at this point, we're about as close to maintenance mode as we ever have been. I don't even fully agree with the option to ignore fortress maps really but I use it because my current setup can't handle them adequately and my internet is a little unstable at the best of times.

The point about being too clannish is also a good one and while IC smack talking is all fine and well, when you actively attempt to hamper a person or faction from playing the game you have crossed a line.

Anyone still playing at this point, we're all in this together.

  9. Kills alone don't win games, you're an exemplar of what's wrong with the Space Marines in a number of other ways, such as constantly whinging about everyone else, poor sportsmanship, believing kills are the only factor to winning, calling for nerfs of everything that kills you, and being non-adaptive with your class choice.

Except perhaps just for one example: When pushing B on Ronin organizing a group of JPA to rush the back wall stacked with braced heavies to cut their defense line so ground based units can push the main entrance. Kills matter then.

And once again, lets keep the personal attacks, cyber bullying and general disregard for our communities forum rules down to a dull roar shall we? Can you do that?
