Weapon mods are incoming guys. This reset is just that, a reset in preparation for the mod system. The mods will come guys be patient. Then we can tweak and tighten up our weapons how we want.
Yeah I basically agreed with you in that post. Could things use some buffs? Yeah. Time will tell though, weapon mods and constant tweaking as they are making some rather monumental changes will decide the outcome. ...I really wish the sternguard bolter already had it's special ammo. One day, one day.
I have been having a hard time using the Bolter since the changes went live, too. I feel like I am hip firing while ADS, my bloom goes nuts after a few shots. I know everything is in a state of flux, but I agree with the OP that, by launch, the ADS accuracy should be way better. I personally think the hip fire should be a bit better too, Marines are aggressive by nature and need to push objectives or the enemy's counter-push. Our weapons are lacking the hyper accuracy, range, or power of other codex weapons (imagine a weapon more damaging than an armor piercing mass reactive rocket launched ), so we need to be able to use them effectively at all times to compensate. We are super soldiers after all. I'm looking forward to the changes in the future, good or bad. Even if my precious Boltgun doesn't get buffed, the enemies of Man will not stand against it while it is in my hands.
Hip firing would also help distinguish it from things like AC/HB. Maybe weapon mods will solve the issues.
Somehow the plasmagun feels like it fell through the accuracy reset. I can still snipe over the whole map.
Its obvious that mods will improve stability, recoil, mag size and such. But anyway, why to torture us before it goes live? I believe its a very clear line that devs love to nerf things to the ground or buff to the heavens and than choose the middle. But why? Arent there any other ways? Im sure in 21 century there are more polite ways to balance and test things. Why kill joy of playing?
Because this is how it will be for all of us at the release anyway? We might just as well see and provide feedback on it right now.
This type of hyperbole happens all the time with every single game. It's not just this game, and I am so sick of it. It's clearly very, very hard to balance things well - otherwise why would every. single. goddamn. multiplayer. game. be filled with the same bitching and whingeing. How about you cut the devs some slack and either learn to use the bolter as is, or stop using it.
The new bolter may be the actual representation of an unaugmented vanilla bolter sans perks. Have to be room to improve it somewhere and the previous bolter was amazingly accurate with larger clip than it is now.
