"Now Khaine's own iron flesh protects us,
though our fates are far from sealed."

The Banshees slipped the mesh-like basing of their armour up pale and slender shoulders. Exarch Badra walked amongst her Banshees with only her long black greyish hair free from the bone-coloured armour.

"The peace has shattered, harmony is in peril,
and so our voices shall arise."

The exarch's firm, low-pitched voice echoed, and the solemn moment lit a fire in the warriors' hearts. The Shrine of the Everlasting Cry laid in perpetual twilight - a silence broken only by Khaine's violent pulse racing across the Infinity Circuit.

"War has come, we shall greet it,
and the balance of the outcome rests in the deadly Arts we shall perform."

Aida the Performer felt these last words like a kiss upon her breastbone - she heard no more words, the ecstasy of the moment had taken her. An image of all she fought for rushed through her mind. Kateb, the brave Warp Spider Aspect, her squad mates, Anamnialoc, her people...
    It was all so beautiful.

"And like the storm, and like the furies, we shall fall upon our enemy!
One elegant, orchestrated catharsis, as the Everlasting Cry echoes forever!"

The Banshees had finished mounting the plates of their armour upon them. They all held their helmets between their hands, the runes upon their foreheads burning deep into their minds as they donned their war-masks.

"We stand before Khaela Mensha Khaine!
Unyielding in our purpose, Free at last from fear!"

Aida looked down into her helmet, the black hair-like fibres on it coming slowly back to life, moving on it's own account. She pulled the helmet over her, and Aida was no more.

"Look not more through vane senses, but let this feeling grip you.
Embrace Khaine's loving gift, become one with the storm!"

The hair-like fibres on the Banshees' helmets lit blue, crackling with energy.
Their blood-red eyes sockets all looked up in unison.

"Sisters of blood and fire, be strong!"

Exarch Badra put on her helmet, and the chorus of the Banshees' cry of Passion rang for a moment through every corner of Anamnialoc. The Banshees ran to the armoury, the Host awaited...

The armoury. The eight dormant slender blades hanging on the walls, crossed by shuriken pistols of beautiful designs. Aida took her parter, the sword she had secretly named "Anam De Tempesta", or "Soul of the Storm". Anam was waiting in the darkness, knowing that her puppet - the slave to her bloody whims - would eventually come back. The Banshees grasped the blade, and the mistress burned. The blue glow of cathartic, violent energy emanating from the Banshees' swords lit the room, the hair-like fibres on the Banshees' helmets convulsed and shone in a similar blue fashion.

The ecstasy, the blood that boiled.
Around one hundred Aspect Warriors stood around the council's forum - along with the three elder Autarchs, the seven venerable Farseers, the eerie presence of Wraithlord Aleph - the fourth great Autarch.
All Eldar energies pulsed through Aida's skin, the Poet could barely hold herself from screaming, leaping, slashing... Maiming.

The two Warp Spider exarchs and their squads arrived last. Aida felt something, but all emotions were blocked and unintelligible by the war-mask. She knew there was something special in that squad, something in that tall Warp Spider from the shrine of the Waving Fates...
Unable to reach the memory, she turned her attention to the Council.
"Brothers and sisters" started Autarch Soleis. His imperative voice low and scarred by the wound that a chainsword caused him. "As you may know, in this very moment, there is a great threat approaching our home."
A heartbeat shook all of the warriors in the room - for he demanded blood, the blood of the enemy that threatened his children. The Avatar of Khaine awaited for the Young Prince.

Thank you. Though I mostly based myself on the Path series for this ritual. It's all Gav Thorpe's!

I haven't read his Path of-series yet, but the eldar codex has a lot of stuff about the ritual for the avatar as well, so I don't think it will be limited to only his fans ;)

Quite so. Xenos witch, your kind tends to call me. When they look me in the eye and their breath leaves them forever, that it. ;)
