Oh i'm definatly hoping Salamanders get in too. I'm hoping for all first foundings, and Blood Ravens, Crimson fists, Black Templars, and maybe Grey Knights too. The more the better. There are a lot of SM fans, and I bet they are willing to play their favourite chapters.
But how do you explain dozens of choice Space Marin Chapters descending upon a single world? Thinking about that, I think it is really completely unnecessary to have more than five.
I'm hoping to see sons of medusa/iron snakes/Thousand sons/emperors children and few more that I can't name lol I'd still hope they keep custom paint so people can make their own. I will say if we meet in combat friend or foe I'd add you to friends. The main reason I want custom paint is to make the Cool styles of paint like the half N half or checkers or the other from DOW 2.
True but you must understand even of they want many they might not do all of them seeing as Many are ether destroyed or they are lost or they went to chaos. This is debate able 50% 50% so I'm leaving it at hoping at least 10 chapters for Sm and Csm
Actually, the same ways as you explain four. In lore, Space marines very rarely descend in more than one chapter. So when they do flock to one place, its one very big battle. The Macharian heresy had a hundred chapters being deployed. The War for Armageddon had around 25. So you are just setting an arbitrary limit at 4 pulled out of your rear end. Cheap.
Five, actually. My logic goes the way that 5 Chapters, Warbands, Craftworlds, Clanz and possibly Regiments, Orders, Cabals, Septs, etc. might be a bit much, eh? Of course, more than that is entirely possible. I argue against the need for such implements, not about their impossibility.
They'll probably introduce the same number of sub-factions (chapters/warbands/craftworlds/clans) for each faction in the game, and increase them at the same rate. So four sub-factions for each of the four factions, then as the game goes on, they'd probably all be bumped up to 5 or 6 each, at the same time. At present, I don't think it's a coincidence that we got four First Founding chapters that represent each of the separate Games Workshop Codexes (Blood Angels, Space Wolves and Dark Angels have their own army book and of course Ultramarines representing Codex: Space Marines). Beyond that, it's hard to say, but when the time comes to add more sub-factions, I think the remaining five First Founding chapters (that are represented by "Chapter Tactics" in Codex: Space Marines) will come first.. or possibly Black Templars.
I highly doubt Black Templars will be in the game. Unless they can set up different weapons for different sub-factions, the Black Templars differ too heavily from pretty much any other Chapter as their troops are almost exclusively equipped for melee combat.
Agreed. Come to think of it, that brings up the question.. I'm curious how different exactly the sub-factions will differ (for all races). Will it just be penalties/bonuses to wargear and ability stats and costs? Or will there actually be significant differences, like custom units or abilities that only exist for that sub-faction? Well, as an addendum, in the crunch, original Black Templar fluff had them very different from other Space Marine armies.. but now they're just a Chapter Tactics for Codex: Space Marines, so they're hardly that different anymore (except for the lack of Librarians, their two Chapter Tactics special rules, and the mixed Initiate/Neophyte squads).
