we already discussed that discussed to death http://forum.eternalcrusade.com/threads/so-no-mature-rating.46525/page-17#post-811309 in short: EC don't want want to be rated like a porn.
This seems pretty unimportant in the long run, and serves (in my opinion) as a way to further development time for something that REALLY doesn't matter. While I agree it would be pretty cool to get accurate blood splatter, ask yourself, does this really attribute to the game in any meaningful way? Do you ever play a game and stare at the blood on the ground you caused from shooting/stabbing/maiming someone?
Well, I can't because it doesn't even appear to hit the ground. Warhammer without blood is like asking to give you a video with a black screen; it defeats its purpose. And let me remind you is that your opinion on blood spatter is one result of this underappreciation that I am refering. Yeah, it isn't a necessity, but no game as far as I know has done it or even attempted it. And I think this would be a welcome addition and should be embraced as an art in video game animation and programming. The only game that came really close is Overgrowth. They did blood very well. The minor details like the splat of blood when you slit someones throat (which comes when you attempt to breath with a slit throat) from the different kinds of splats depending on weapon, the way your character holds his wounds and the way they drip down onto the ground... Overgrowth was subtle with the blood though. Warhammer 40K needs no such restrictions. As said, it isn't a top priority, but it is something I would want this game to try and strive for.
"Warhammer without blood is like asking to give you a video with a black screen; it defeats the purpose" I respectively disagree. The blood in Warhammer is more of a "Wow!" factor to make the weapons seem brutal and make it seem powerful, seen the Chain Sword executions in Space Marine if you want some examples. However, Do not think I don't EVER want accurate blood splatter in the game, that's completely and utterly false. I just feel like blood can take a back seat for now, seeing how other more important matters are on the table.
As I said: this isn't a top priority, but a welcome detail that would be, in my opinion, beneficial to the overall game. The more detail, the better the game (once the core mechanics are down first, of course )
