I think the current color is pretty fluff and mini accurate. The Blood Angels are cherry red, whereas the Blood Ravens are crimson and the Word Bearers are kinda burgundy. The Heresy-era BA's seem to more of a pastel-y red (more like dried blood), while the Thousand Sons of that era used cherry.
I reckon all the loyalists should be darkened slightly and dirtied. Compared to other armies such as chaos or ork, the colours stand out WAY too much amongst terrain and its easy to spot them. Especially imperial fists. they're really the only yellow thing in this game shy of the rave lights everything on the buildings
