I've been a Warhammer 40k fan for just over 10 years now. I know that's nothing compared to many of you that have made it a big part of your life at this point and I want you to understand I'm not making this post to be a downer or rain on anybody's joy today. But I would like to understand where does this blind faith that Behavior Interactive will do this game justice comes from? Why are so many blindly defending and so adamant that Miguel and behavior interactive will do no wrong with this game? So far their track record has been from mediocre to terrible, they have a long list of movie adaptation video games and we all know how good those are. Here is the list, read it for yourself: http://www.ign.com/companies/behaviour-interactive , http://www.bhvr.com/portfolio/ I write this thread not for rage, but for hope. I am hoping that you will enlighten me with your knowledge and wisdom so that I may have some peace of mind after the fall of THQ and peacefully wait for this founder pack and pledge with the same faith as you.
The heck man? Why would we have to convince you? Are you on this forum or not? Nobody oblige you to believe, just wait for the game and you will have your proof, in a bad or in a good way.
Its just hope man. Hope that a company will do this IP the justice it deserves of a good game. Sure we've all been stung by the hype train many times. But we still believe...
Well ok, first of all when did you join us? May 16th? Or have you been lurking before? First thing is that the devs have been very open with us, constantly on the forum, showing the will to change if proven wrong in some aspects and more. They are constantly on the forum (not recently due to E3) and constantly answer PM's of people (ive had dozens of them with multiple devs). They have also shown very well that they listen to the community and even took ideas from the same when designing the game (examples the jumping from walls with jetpacks and the drop pod animations). Second is well, this is the game we are waiting on. This is the game many have been waiting for. Now its coming to pass, something that has the chance to become amazing, and its in the hands of people who arent cunts. This gives many people hope, and enough to go on to trust the devs and give into the Founders program. Note that the Founders program was our idea, not the devs. EC is fully funded, and what revinue comes from EC is going into the strech goals and other such things, the production itself has its budget. Hope i cleared it up for you, feel free to ask for further clarifications.
It's also that some of us have maintained a relationship with this dev-team for the past 8 months and have been following the development of EC. I have yet to see anything that would make me think they won't do exactly what they say they're going to do, the way they got the shaft at E3 notwithstanding.
you've only been lurking for what, a week? there's history b/w us and the devs and community managers that gives us this faith. it's not blind. so read more.
Faith? Belief is not based on logic, thus I can't really imagine how somebody could "enlighten" you by sharing their knowledge or wisdom. It is simple, you choose to believe something, for whatever reason, and that's it. Anyway, is it that strange that somebody comes over with a cool idea for something that people want (really, really, really desperately want) and they just kind of feel like believing it might work out? It's not hard to be optimistic about something that you want to happen, I suppose. Unless you're horribly pessimistic. Har, har, har.
You should probably be on the forums a bit before you make this post. As people have pointed out before the dev's are very active on the forums and when they can, they also tell us about features that will be in the game. They also have got the community's opinion on many occasions It is literally a Warhammer game that is made for the Warhammer community. They have not given me a reason to doubt that this game will be bad. I know when they release the founders problem this month that I'll be backing it.
Brother Tidus, It's a valid question from a newer member. Take a look at what the devs have said and some of their interactions with us compiled here: http://www.battle-brothers.net/devtrack . I'm glad you're checking your facts. To give you my answer, for me it's not faith. The interactions we've had with bE , their stated vision and the WIP stuff they have shared has show me that this is going to be their big game and they have the right team put together to make this the 40k game it should be.
To be honest I still think it's a bit too early to say whether the game will be kickass or not. I'm trying to keep my expectations as low as possible until I can play it for myself, as the project is enormous and there's still a long way until release. Much can change, for the better or for the worse. The developers do have their hearts at the right place though.
