I like your discipline. Some may say it's over the board, but I find it a fitting roleplay I'll keep a note on you guys. Thank you for posting here
Just had two hours of PS2 lead in a full squad, the speed the guys followed orders and directions is always stunning it's like I look at the map and say "we will form back up at Mani Biolab now !" And a couple of seconds later when I closed the map and start running to the biolab the whole rest of the squad is there already. that is BWC, that's what makes us an incredibly fighting force ! http://the-bwc.com
Thank you for the response, i will further read through protocol and be back should i have more questions.
BWC has a lot of RL get togethers where you can actually meet the other members in person ! another reason to check us out, isn't it ? http://the-bwc.com What is BWC ? BWC isn't about numbers, of the pure fighting force our guns deliver, we pride ourselves with community and teamwork, and that makes us by far more dangerous opponents than any weapon could. Want to join us ? http://the-bwc.com BWC is the best gaming community I can personally think of ! Check us out http://the-bwc.com
Hope everyone had a good thanksgiving. As for me, my day was great. As for what I'm thankful for, that would be my family and friends; from my real blood relatives to my BWC brothers and sisters who are always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need.
Noted. Thanks for the free bump. Thank you for the feedback. I feel compelled to clarify something -- it's not roleplay. Our founding members, of which I am one, were professional NCOs in the Army, two of whom have combat-arms backgrounds. We formed to play a shooter called Planetside, which was the closest approximation to online warfare that we'd ever seen. We decided, who knows better about warfare than the military? But translated into civilian and/or gamer terms: every reputable organisation which is successful, or desires to be successful, in open combat with other players, will have its own code of conduct and its own preferred method of teaching its people. We readily recognise, and embrace, that our culture is different from other organisations. We are not for casual gamers, nor are we for the average troll-prone neckbeard like Terminal Lance up above. Our code of conduct is little different from any other respectable "guild" -- the fact that no less than six game developers are lined up to have us demo, test, or produce pre-release gameplay content speaks well of our reputation. We don't teach people how to play games, we teach them how to play the BWC way, with an emphasis on winning and on gaming excellence. We place a premium value on teamwork and coordination -- consider the many, varied backgrounds that internet gamers come from, how does one best motivate those people. all volunteers, to gel into a unified and cohesive gaming entity? Looking at our unbroken history, sterling reputation, and our track record at various online games, I think we're on to something.
I'm slightly confused here. Is this a recruitment post for Planetside 2 game-play with implications of proving ourselves for future combat in WH40K: EC, or to spread the name of the community for recruitment? Apart from everything else, I hold yours as the highest revered gaming community I've seen for a while, although I've never been sure if my aptitude meets your requirements. Please do not take my question as a sign of doubt, as I would definitely be interested in military style organization within gaming to help with my ROTC training in squad oversight and completing objectives. Edit: "Currently, we're only accepting people who play a game we currently play (MWO, PS2, SC, SWTOR, PotBS). When the game hits beta, we'll start open recruitment. And our version of "open recruitment" will still be selective." (Page 2, Comment 2) My apologies, just now saw this. Sadly I haven't had any experience with these games, I've been a Warhammer fanatic all my life so I doubt I'd be good enough for any of the other games you play! I suppose I look forward to trying out in a few years.
We do not embrace the term "good enough". We are not elitist. You don't have to be good -- since you're in ROTC you're probably aware of the concept that a great team with excellent coordination and communication will almost always dominate those without. I say "almost" to be technically accurate, but really it's "always". So in other words, you don't need to be "good enough". You just need to be willing to learn, and we will teach you the rest. A side note on that -- we don't teach you how to play the game, we teach you how to play it the BWC way. Although if you are unfamiliar with the game we can train you up in that, too. My advice is, take the plunge and go for it anyway. Give it a shot.
To add on to what Firefly was saying; I joined BWC after having played Planetside 2 quite a bit. After joining, for Star Citizen, they developed the all in policy, and not being big on planetside 2 anymore, joined them in that for the operations and trainings. The trainings, even as someone who already knew most ins and outs for the game helped immensely. You learn how BWC moves, the standards set and how to easily meet and surpass those standards. In MWO, I jumped into the game with literally no idea what the game was. I didnt even know it was a game with robots until I went to the web page to download it as I didnt realize the game was mech warrior online, just MWO. Guys and girls in BWC helped get me started and directed me to links that would help me learn the game until I was comfortable in the game. You dont have to be an exceptional player, either at the beginning or at the end. you just need to be willing to learn and to then work as a team to achieve the objectives the squad/drop leader sets. And to clarify, in case you misread Firefly's post as the above did, BWC has nothing to do with helping or advancing your ROTC training. But your ROTC training will give you a bit of a better understanding of how BWC does things as you need to have respect, commitment and teamwork. Straight from our SOP, BWC's core values (those which are valued above all else): Loyalty, Dependability, Respect, Selfless service, Honour, Integrity and Personal courage.
